Sorry I meant Julio not Diaz.

It's not slighted but it's not an elite victory as Quintana wasn't considered an elite when Cotto beat him.

    A good win no doubt.

    Intersting post...

As Cotto hater #1, I can tell you the guy is solid. HE's a great fighter, and one of the elite. But what ticks me off about him is that 80% of people in here know that Paul would whip his ass.. yet some of the same people would say "Cotto is the best WW"

Doesn't make sense. And it really isn't Cotto to blame. But when his fans bring up dumb-ass excuses like "PW can't make the weight no more" -which is total bull****... And "He's not a big enough draw" - as if that really has anything to do with who is really the best...

And even this motha****a VARG in his last statement about what Cotto has done, refuses to even acknowledge PW's existence.

    **** Cotto.

He was focused. He isn't going to make excuses. But when he came out in the second fight, he did what he supposed to do. Yet, you have stupid-asses claiming that it was "lucky"

The same people would ****in get pissed if you call Cotto's KD of Clottey "lucky"

I watched the fight carefully, and I had Cotto winning 114-113. And I usually don't give Cotto rounds that are very-very close, exactly because I'm a fan of his and I try to be objective when I score his fights. But there's really no point discussing this, it was surely a very close fight. The fight was basically there for Clottey to win, but he failed to do so cause A) He gassed and B) He seemed concerned for Cotto's power, so he was reluctunt to assault Cotto like he would have wanted to in the last 2-3 rounds.

I know what you're saying about Cotto being overrated on this board, to me it's just that some of his fans are very passionate when talking about him. Personally, I think he's fun to watch, I like his fighting style and his heart.

I wasn't saying he will definitely improve his defense, I stated what he has to do to become A-level. But maybe you're right, a fighter usually can't change his style very much. We'll have to wait and see, of course.

Solid points. Honestly, I'd favour Williams to beat Cotto, but I'd give Cotto a decent chance to pull it off.

That win wasn't "lucky". Williams destroyed Quintana, period.

I'm not too familiar with your posting history other than your hatred for Cotto which is quite prevalent on these boards, so excuse my ignorance if my question is unfairly presumptive but why aren't you criticizing Mosley or Mayweather for also ducking PTP? They're just as guilty and I think Mosley is even more guilty considering PTP and Goosen going public with their campagne to get a fight against him.

You've questioned Cotto's accomplishments and so I have to ask you if you believe Mayweather, the man in your avatar, is more accomplished than Cotto as a welterweight?

    You're wrong.

I have criticized Mosely quite a bit. And everyone makes the excuse that Shane is old and deserves a payday. Same with margarito fans last year who I used to have it out with constantly. I don't criticize Floyd so much because he gets more thn enough without me. It would just be piling on. Cotto, on the other hand, is suposed to be such a brave pure warrior who is the best guy on the planet type bull****. And his fans, who criticize Floyd as much as anyone, make the same Floyd-like excuses when it comes to PW. :huh

**** that. He needs to get in the ring and take his ass-whoopin like a man. :yep

People who watched the fight on tv have a different perception of the fight that was before them LIVE! Why would the AP and Harold Lederman score the fight for Cotto? What did they see at the fight that you didn;t see on tv? I even had two friends that went to the fight, in VERY CLOSE proximity to the ring who thought Cotto won easily. When I called my freind a week or so later, he said he watched it on tv and thought that the fight was very even. So what you see on TV is different from being there live. BTW Cotto was on a bike BUT PUNCHING as WELL. Clottey wasnt punching at the end. Cotto kept hitting him with combos towards the end of the fight and Clottey would be sitting against the ropes ??

According to the majority, Mosley is the best welter at the moment. He's got the common win over Margarito so imo, he more than Cotto should "take his beating like a man". PTP has been calling him out just as much as Mosley has been calling out Pac. Cotto apparently has won the Pacman lottery and will cash in his ticket so Mosley, who presently has no future opponent, should again "take his beating like a man."

I would lose more than an avatar.

Probably the car as well. I have total faith in PW's ability to derail this Cotto nut-slurping train.

Cotto was hyped SO much when he was undefeated that it was only normal to see people attack him this way once he faces a loss or a tough fight. Cotto is a good fighter but his flaws were always there, it's just that some guys didn't want to hear about them and started flame wars every time anyone brought them up.
