If they agreed to 147 and 1/2 as a "CATCH WEIGHT" then yes. But if they say it's a WW fight....it's a WW fight. WHat's so hard to comprehend?

LOL.....you gotta be new to this sport! DLH agreed to fight PAC at WW. Bottom line. DLH may have been a Jr MW and PAC a 130 or 135 pound fighter but both agreed to meet at WW. So no....it wasn't a catch weight. Even though PAC and DLH came in under 147...the contracted fight was a sanctioned Welter Weight fght.

My god you are over complicating things bro. Don't burn your brian cells trying to over think this. IF this is the case then there are NO real weight classes.....all just CATCH weights with what you are saying. DLH came from 135 at the begining of his career. When he stepped up in weight...from your logic he's been fighting "catch weights" ever since his first move northward to a higher weight class. ANY one who moved up in weight is always fightig at a catch weight if his is what you are proposing.

147 isn't DLH nor PAC's natrual weight class! But that was the divsion in which they agreed to meet. Which was a Welter weight fight.

I see a hard 12 round fight with Cotto countering Manny all night long and pulling a UD.

:rofl WOW! You really don't know what you are talking about. It's only a catch weight if both camps agree to a specific weight that is above or under a specific weight division. If two fighters are natural 147 pound fighters and they agree to fight at 148.....that's a catch weight....if they agree to fight at Jr WW 154...it's a Super WW fight.

IT's not that people are getting defensive....it's just frustrating to see somone complete not "GET IT". Well.....it's funny in a way as well but jeez louise!!:patsch YOu just seem to want to over think something that is simple.

You are basically saying that any fighter that moves up to a new weight class is always fighting at a catch weight which is completely untrue. Just b/c DLH and PAC faught at 147 doesn't mean it was a catch weight. Sure they both agreed to fight at Welter Weight and like any fight in any weight class there is a limit....just like in any sanctioned fight. DLH faught Strum at MW.....that wans't a catch weight...that was MW fight. Bhop and DLH faught at a Catch weight for their MW fight. It was still a MW fight but there was a true catch weight.

 And Cotto-Pac at 145 isn't a catchweight fight either right???....after all 145 is just a weight that falls under the WW division, isn't it???.... so why to call it a catchweight fight????.

WW= 140+ to 147 therefore a fight at 145 is a WW fight.... I wonder why you accept this as a catch weight fight....:rofl

excellent thread, I agree with you 99%. I think Roach wont let Manny sustain that bad of a beat down and will throw in the towel as soon as he sees Manny getting beat up, they will then parade their asses back down to 140 after a 9 month layoff.
