Miguel Cotto fought everyone in their prime and he was clean the entire time. He deserves more!

Fair enough I don't think Sergio beats cotto at 147 tho. In any case hes still about 4 inches taller and 4 inches longer reach. Sergio was a very good fighter. Cotto losing to prime sergio at 160 would have no negative effect on how I view his overall career

Sir Cotto weighted 146 lbs in his fight with Clottey before the Pacquiao fight. Their catchweight fight with Pacquiao was at 145, 1 pound give away is not really that matter.

Cotto is a great fighter anyway who ducked no one in their prime.

You ever given a pound of flesh to a Venetian merchant?

Ill tell you something bucko that mere pound feels like a big deal.

My own fault though shouldn't have gone all in on a pair of 9's.

How? I every fight Cotto has ALWAYS out boxed his competitor until the mid rounds. He out boxed Pac busted his ribs, out boxed Floyd and busted his nose, out boxed Margarito but couldn't put him away, out boxed Canelo better than GGG ever did in 2 fights, so where in the hell does he not fit in as a great?

This post has 13 likes so far yet it's total nonsense. Cotto is rated just fine. A very good fighter. He preyed on the weak? Who? Yuri and Martinez? Blame them for taking fights while injured. You are going to condemn him for two fights. It's ridiculous. Martinez cheated the fans. He knew what he was doing since no one but him knew the extent of his injuries. He's the one that deserves blame.

Cotto had one big fault ? He was one of the biggest whiners & :llorona::llorona: in the game. Whenever he lost he always blamed someone else, usually his trainer, how many has he had over his career ?? Or it was Margarito had loaded gloves:meparto::meparto: Tony took all he had laughed & LEGITMATELY made him kneel in surrender & QUIT!!!!!!!!! Tony was ready to do it again but the NY doc saved Cotto the embarrassment of QUITTING AGAIN!!! by pretending to worry about Tony's eye it would have been DeJaVu all over again

Yeah. Cotto still wakes up sweating and shaking, and checks for Toño under his bed. Toño broke that man.

I was a critic while he was fighting, but in hindsight I can really appreciate him. He was a solid, but unspectacular talent who overachieved because he always came in top shape and always gave it everything he had. Rebounding the way he did from the Margarito beating also deserves praise. A lot of times, especially in the modern era, that's a career changer. He actually gave some of his best performances afterwards.

He's earned his place among the top 10 Puerto Rican fighters of all time.

I didn’t see that way the second fight as in matter of fact the last round margarito was getting spanked

CLEAN?? Cotto was a small welter but Miraculously went up to 160 and became champion!

Cotto looked all the sudden stronger in the second Margarito match. In the clinch he appeared like the bigger stronger guy when we all know he was not, at least not naturally! He was all of the sudden crazy bulked. Why he gets passed by in Suspiciousness is beyond me.

They nearly didn't let him out for the 9th. He was given a chance to change how things were going and instead took clean shot after clean shot. Banging his chest with false bravado like he won the round or something but in reality Miguel was feeding it to him.

Watch the fight again LOL Tony went back to corner turned & to face Cotto & started beating his chest Cotto was slumped in corner The Doc goes over & wants to stop fight to save Tony's eye.
Tony couldnt see out of it from round 2 & the doc knew that. The doc stopped that fight to save Cotto the embarrassment of quitting AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cotto was slumped in his corner like a beaten man which the doc could see he was thats why he stopped the fight. Tony fought with one eye from round2 & cotto STILL couldnt best him

Well Cotto was supposedly exhausted and ready to fall but he was still feeding Margarito lefts and rights like it was a hot dish of conchita pibil.

Funny how Antonios career went suspiciously south and he wasn't able to score another knockout against quite poor opposition after the Mosley fight. I just can't for the life of me think why that would be.

The loaded gloves fiasco was concocted to save Poopy Mayweather or Oscar Fishnets having to face him of that I'm certain. Tony should never have gone through with the Mosely debacle he wasnt 100% by far
