Miguel Cotto fought everyone in their prime and he was clean the entire time. He deserves more!

    That's fair. He was packing Floyd's stool in with his jab, though.

    Until Floyd turned the tide and knocked his **** loose and had his knees quivering in the 12th.

    Cotto was also weight drained for this fight, due to Pacquiao and Arum hard-nosing Cotto down to a 145 catchweight, as opposed to fighting Cotto at 147.

    Please Pacquiao was a blown up lightweight. Cotto weighed 146 against Clottey so dropping to 145 was just a minor giveaway compared to fighting a guy who was never meant to fight above 135.

    Cotto was never in Pacquiao's class. The gap between them is huge.

    When cutting weight, many professional fighters have stated that the last two pounds are the hardest to take off.

    And if the gap between Pacquiao and Cotto is huge (which it is) and Pacquiao was confident he'd trounce Cotto regardless, then why didn't Pacquiao fight Cotto at 147 instead of the 145 catchweight?

    Because his body maxed out at lightweight.

    Pac annihilated Cotto. Hanging on to Cotto losing 1lb when Pac could easily have made 135 is a joke.

    I used to be a Cotton fan, I even saw his fight against Ricardo Mayorga at MGM in vegas..

    But Cotto DID become a diva, and he revelled in the victim role during the whole margarito controversy, which was never proven with regards to Cotto.

    I was really turned off during the lead up to the Mayweather fight in which they showed video clips of Cotto spending time with his family, and he was kissing his teenage son on the month. It really creeped the hell out of me and I've never cared for Cotto since

    I'm not disputing that Pacquiao did give Cotto a pasting from round 4 onwards; but Pacquiao "maxing out at Lightweight" hardly justifies him imposing a 145 Catchweight on a fighter he would've battered regardless.

    I'm one of those people who think if anything he was overrated. What incumbent champions did he beat? He loved a vacant title against inexplicably overmatched fellow contenders for him to collect trinkets he would lose in fights with the truly elite.

    Never fought anyone considered The Man at 140. Was never really the man at WW or 154. Beat a number of cripples and nobodies for his titles. Had a sham run at 160.

    Good but not great. A darling of fans and media but his career doesn't stand up to any real kind of scrutiny.

    Miguel Cotto will be inducted into the Hall of Fame on the first ballot.

    * Floyd Mayweather
    * Canelo Alvarez
    * Manny Pacquiao
    * Shane Mosley
    * Sergio Martinez
    * Zab Judah
    * Antonio Margarito
    * Carlos Quintana
    * Randall Bailey
    * Ricardo Torres (war)
    * Joshua Clottey
    * Daniel Geale
    * Ricardo Mayorga
    And an assortment of names like Paul Malignaggi, Gianluca Branco, Oktay Urkal, Carlos Maussa, Kelson Pinto, Cesar Bazan.

    Excellent fighter. Wonderful, memorable career. Four division champ. Around 14 successful title defenses across those divisions. He was a mainstay at or near the top of the sport for a decade and a half.

    He fought in huge events, across several divisions, could box, could punch, could take a punch, engaged in wars, engaged in chess matches, was upset, scored upsets, avenged his most brutal loss, was wildly popular, successfully defended titles, met future Hall of Famers, beat future Hall of Famers, made millions, and had longevity.

    Very good.

    I thought his fight with Clenelo was way closer than the judges had it.
