Okay guys we have all seen the fights that Miguel was either stunned or hurt in some fashion. Torres, Corley and maybe the Judah fight to a much lesser extent. But in my opinion i think that is a GOOD thing. There are some fighter's that you do not know how they are gonna react when they get hurt. With Cotto we know he has been there before and he has the ability to

    A) buy time
    B) fight back when hurt
    C) stay composed
    D) recover well

Also he has won all the fights he's been hurt in by K.O. :deal
which says to me he has alot of heart and determination. So like i said before as a fan of Cotto's im glad he has already earned his steel and showed these things because that makes me that much more confident in him.

Cotto's chin at 147 pounds is solid. The 140 pound version of Cotto would've went down from the big punches he was hit with by Judah & Mosley.

I was actually watching Judah vs Cotto on youtube yesterday and Cotto took some hellacious uppercuts in that fight and was never in serious trouble.

3rd round, with around 20 seconds left Judah caught Cotto FLUSH with a very hard left uppercut and than two seconds later, a straight left hand and Cotto walked right through both of them.

But ultimately, his recovery ability is amazing. He stays very calm

I'd think this helps him as well, as he could be hurt or stunned by more powerful and experienced fighters in the future, but he would have been in that position before, so he would know what to do and how to react..

You know what i find so endearing to me about cotto...

I think it was against torres... he was hurt, and he KEEPS COMING FORWARD. not stupidly like my boy mayorga... but intelligantly... yet, still going forward. Granted... he did end up backing up and circling when he needed to, but that should have told me everything i needed to know about cottos spirit.

People like to make a big deal about Cotto getting hurt in some fights, but the true sign of a fighter is how he reacts and overcomes adversity. Cotto has always fought back and like it was said previously, has won every fight that he has gotten seriously hurt by KO

The best decision that Cotto has made so far in his career was to move up to 147, he looked weight drained at 140 and i think it was definitely a factor for him getting rocked and stunned during his stay at 140.

And it should be noted, the only official knockdown of his career was in the Torres fight when he was thrown down to the canvas.

hmmm sounds like Tito who was knocked down very often and came back to win by KO ... soon he gets knocked out by Hopkins ... Cotto is no different ... you can only go to the well so many times ... either tighten up your defense or risk getting knocked out in the future.

Thats a knock on Miguel Cotto and its not a minor flaw ... its huge because it could potentially be his downfall.

I'm not saying who's going to knock him out, but like I said, he can only come back or recover so many times, he may find a fighter who's not going to let up on him when he gets hurt - they may not tire themselves out like Torres or Chop Chop.

Just like Tito, his first loss is going to kill his thoughts and beliefs on being invincible.

He's going to be devastated and its going to weigh on him mentally ... losing by KO has a way worse effect than losing a decision.

I mean look at Taylor...He got seriously hurt and what happen.....K.O. I don't think he was ever hurt like that before and what did he do to adjust...nothing because he did not have the heart and determination to. Like the poster above me said, this really proves how much spirit, heart, talent and determination Cotto really has.

When you have trouble making weight you get a bunch of flash knockdowns such as Deigo Corrales v Floyd Mayweather ... Corrales was drained from making weight, never was hurt ... just got knocked down alot.

Cotto was truely hurt a few times ... it was never a matter of him getting knocked down and getting back up ... it was a matter of him being on ***** street on the verge of getting knocked out. On shaky legs and very off balance.

They were also one punch with right hands to the chin ... Chop Chop right hook and Torres a flush right hand ...

Good post man. Yea, I am also more confident in Cotto because he has already experienced being hurt and has overcome the situation every single time. It's definitely a good thing that Cotto has experienced because he knows how to react when getting hurt. Margarito might be able to hurt Cotto, but I think Cotto will be able to overcome it and use his boxing skills when nessessary.

Cotto's apparent "weak chin" has been a blessing in disguise for his boxing career. His opponents have come into his boxing fights with the sole strategy of hurting him and knocking him out. While they are worried and focused about getting the KO, Cotto is focused on out boxing you and winning a boxing match. Let everyone that comes into fighting Cotto come in with the strategy of knocking him out because honestly it hasn't worked and I don't think it will work with any present day fighters. I think Mayweather is smart enough to understand that you beat Cotto by out boxing him not focused on trying to hurt him.
