Meh... call me crazy, but I'm gonna say Pavlik is a better finisher than Torres or Corley. If Cotto had been that buzzed in with the Zab of five years ago at 140, I'd say it's 50/50 if he gets out of the round.

Don't get me wrong though, I was still impressed by Cotto's presence under fire.

Well if you haven't noticed, Cotto has definitely improved on a lot of his mechanics. He has definitely tightened up his defense since he was never truly hit flushed on his head in the Mosley fight. Cotto has begun to jab his way through more effectively than ever before, Cotto is relying a lot more on his speed which he has immense amount of. And Cotto is definitely starting to seem much more calmer than ever before while in the ring. It seems as if though he is seeing punches more closely and slower than usual. Cotto has shown so much improvement in just two fights! Don't even mix Tito's name with Cotto...please! Tito and Cotto are two different species.:nono

Cotto has tighten up his defense against guys who weren't on his level and that includes a faded Mosley. He still has been taking alot of shots going back to when he fought Oktay Urkal.

Power and Speed is a good thing to have but don't put an emphasis on it because at times it doesn't matter against a guy who's also fast and strong.

Cotto was hit flush by Gomez, Mosley, Judah, and Urkal ... he was hurt by Mosley and Judah ... he turned to his boxing skills against Mosley and against Judah he knew that he was going to tire out sooner than later.

I disagree saying that his defense has tighten up because he's still very hittable.

If anything he's just boxed more and relyed on his jab more ... add to that he hasn't fought anyone thats a legit threat to his undefeated record.

Cotto did recover well, buying time holding till he shook off the cob webs. he was able to hold Torres and chop chop. But if in the same situation, hurt, do you think he can hold onto the bigger Margo to buy time?

This is the differance Margo will shake him right off and brutalize him. IF HE IS HURT, and thats a big IF.

Well if that's what you think than do so. You're delusional if you think Cotto has not improved his defense. Mosley who was thought to have been too quick for Cotto was actually outboxed! Come on I even did not expect that. You're saying he hasn't fought any legit threat that you tell me who is a legit threat to Cotto? You were probably one those that felt Gomez had a chance against Cotto. Hell...you're probably saying that Margarito is not legit threat either. The fact remains, that Cotto is showing his abilities to his scrutinizing critics that he can very well change his style of fighting no matter what kind of fight his opponent is bringing to him.

Mosely wasn't a threat? Common man. You picked Gomez to beat Cotto. You pick everyone he ever fights. You just don't like Cottto and want to discredit him. Your as bad as the Floyd Haters you spend so much of your time chastising. Give it a rest.

    I agree with you.

Still, it does in some ways spell bad news if you are rocked on two occasions by Zab Judah. All credit to Cotto though, who ended up destroying him anyhow.

I hope Cotto gets his matchup with Floyd Mayweather Jr in the future, and let the best man win.

Cotto's chin is definitely underrated. Some fans act as if it you are not allowed to be hurt as a boxer. A prime example would be Lennox Lewis. His chin was terrible, but he is still considered a great heavy by many people. No one's chin is invincible, especially when they are weight drained.

Cotto's chin is just fine. His recovery time is nothing short of amazing. His defense is much better than most would give him credit for. If it were that bad, then he would have surely been starched by Zab and Mosley.

Oh, and I see Fitzy is in here trying to his best to discredit Cotto. Give it up Fitz. Give the man his props.

i can bet my life on it that fitzgerald has never ever boxed, he doesn't know how its like to make weight, how its like to lose the last few pounds by dehydrating, punches feel alot harder, legs feel alot weaker.

I think Taylor has plenty of heart. He certainly did not show survival skills but Pavlik is one of the best finishers out there, he was hurt by the first shot against the ropes, and those were brutal accurate shots.

Cotto has a ton of heart but he does not have Trinidad's recovery talents. Anyone who saw the Corley fight knows that much.

I'm going to have to disagree. I say this b/c I dont believe tito's ever been truly hurt. most of his knockdowns were due to his poor balance. but i've never seen him out on his feet.

I'm going to assume you're not counting the Hopkins or Jones fights.
