You spend your time on a boxing forum trying to discredit anyone other than PBF getting a win and try to kid yourself you're a boxing afficionado.

    You idiot

I like the trade. Halladay is a better pitcher than Lee and he's right handed. You can't underestimate the effect of getting those prospects from Seattle either. The Phillies have given up a lot of prospects to get Blanton, Lee, and now Halladay. They had to deal Lee to help replenish that farm system. Lee didn't want to sign an extension. So now you get a better pithcer, for multiple years, for less money, and you get to replace some of those prospects you gave up. It helps them now and in the future.

Again, I believe Pacquiao is a stlyistic nightmare for Cotto. Drained or not, Cotto was going to get beatdown. Look at my predictions before the fight. I was firmly picking Pac and my prediction wasn't predicated on Cotto being drained. Me opining that Cotto was drained doesn't take away from Pac's win, all things considered. Since everyone wants to bring up Floyd, he was clearly bigger than JMM. However, assessing the styles, and how the fight played out, it's clear that Floyd beats JMM regardless of the weight. The same goes for Pac against Cotto.

Agreed - I just watched the fight again last night and Cotto was still landing sharp snapping punches in the later rounds and was bouncing around on the balls of his feet pretty much up until the stoppage.

Cotto went into a shell after being rocked and knocked down. Also his stamina was a problem again, he didn't have the strength or energy to push Pac back. Yeah he was still landing some punches, but he wasn't pulling the trigger. Pacquaio is too good for Cotto, same result in a rematch and this is coming from a die hard Cotto fan.

I'm aware of your prefight prediction as I'm also aware that you don't and haven't thought all too much of Cotto.

My post was intended to point out the little bit of success that Cotto did have and how it contradicts the notion that he was drained.

Precisely. These are things that drained fighters in all probability would not be capable of ala De La Hoya when he fought Pac.

Reg look like you got you a little e-stalker:lol:

And I don't see the big deal in turning down the invitation...I would feel a little uncomfortable being in the presence of a man who whipped my ass.

Cotto wasn't drained... it's just an excuse for the haters to throw out there.

Here's the thing, being drained at the weigh in does not completely take away your ability to perform on fight night. Campbell was drained against Funeka and won. Castillo was drained against Corrales and knocked him out. Hopkins was drained against Taylor and performed well enough to win. There are often times when a fighter is not 100% going into a fight. That doesn't mean that they can't perform. It seems as though Cotto had to strain to make 145 lbs. Now how much affect that had on him during the fight is unknown. Maybe he was able to properfly hydrate and was fine on fight night, maybe not. I think he loses regardless.

Oh, okay, so now you're saying being drained had no impact on the way Cotto fought, because he would have lost anyway, because you picked Manny to win anyway, but you still thought you should mention it, saying it was a ***** act by Manny to make Cotto come down in weight...

hahaha you're such a ****ing idiot, look at you backtracking now

    scramble scramble scramble
