i think he's self conscious that he's not outgoing like tito, juanma and other puertorrican boxers and he doesn't attract masses wherever he goes

cotto is a good guy i met him a few times and i cant say anything bad about him, plus i dont know him personally but the thing with him is that he doesn't sign autographs or take pics with everybody in the streets and in PR people are used to champions that are personal and cotto hates being bother and he shows it

i dont think that other boxers that are popular change when they become champion.. trinidad for example always been a guy that likes to talk to everybody and thats how he is and hasnt change.. but his personality makes him more popular amongs fans

he feels like that because he compares himself to other champions and he realizes that tito was loved and always received by a lot of people at the airport.. and then he sees how juanma who became champion after him already surpass him as a fan favorite in PR and maybe he's trying to let it know that he doesnt care

He is well liked in Puerto Rico....just about every bar and hotel shows his fights with a packed house.

PPV is highly purchased there as well.

He just doesn't get the same type of response Tito got nor does he have the same approach, but he is still the man there!!!

My fav fighters are $, Martinez, and Cotto.

I don't like how Cotto had to low blow Judah twice though. -_-

That's the way he is, he doesn't have to change for no one. He's making good money and is a top boxer so he's fine being who he really is.

If puerto rico doesnt want to show cotto love then MEXICO could adopt him.

i think he might be comparing himself to tito- but to me and i think the general boxing public around the world- he s well loved and respected- in fact i cant think of a boxer i admire more for character and temperment. true classy professional guy. never says a bad word about anyone, never makes excuses , and always upholds the honour of a warrior. a true testament to his people and the sport, definition of the word champion.
