Q: Some have said you aren't the same fighter you were before the 2008 defeat to Antonio Margarito. How would you compare today's Miguel Cotto to the fighter of four or five years ago?

Miguel Cotto: In December of 2011, I avenged my loss to Margarito with a TKO in the 10th round. I have grown as a fighter and proven that the 2008 fight does not define me. I am stronger, faster and more engaged in knowing what it takes to win a fight; 2011 proves just that.

My experience in training has evolved, and I have never been more ready in my life. My focus now isn't looking back, just forward. It's all about May 5 now and doing what I need to do to be as ready as I can be for that fight.

There's not a doubt in my mind that what you will see on May 5 exceeds who I was even in the December [2011] fight. I am at the top of my game and defeat is not a word in my vocabulary.

I think people like to look at past moments of defeat as hurdles, but my past has only accelerated me to here and now. I'm at a perfect place in my career for this. I have experience to know what it takes to win, but also the energy and aggression that it still takes to fight at this level.

I can assure fans that on May 5, the Miguel Cotto they will be seeing is the best Miguel Cotto they have ever seen fight. If I don't fight at the level, I not only let the fans down, I let myself down. I don't tend to entertain those thoughts. Winning is the only option and that is what I will do.

Mayweather will lose some rounds of the first half of this fight. Cotto will look very alive and dangerous. Floyd will start to take over around the 5th round. I think Cotto will fight back and make Floyd think twice about coming forward but Floyd will fight smart picking his shots, forcing the ref to stop the fight by the 10th.

Cotto gets hit. A lot. And Floyd has really been sitting down on his punches. The way Floyd came out with those combos in the 4th vs Ortiz was like the Floyd of old. He's going to make a statement come May 5th.

Other than Ortiz being immature, Floyd hasn't stopped anybody since the Hatton fight. Hell, Floyd still might of been in his 20's then.

Floyd won't stop Cotto, but it'll be 7-5 to Floyd whilst Cotto will look really dangerous at times.

Can't really help but like Miguel even if I've never been his most vocal supporter. Doesn't stand much of a chance of winning in my opinion though.

How many times has Marquez been stopped? How about Mosley? Ok then. How about Cotto? Im telling you if this fight goes down with 8oz gloves, Cotto will not see the final round. I rewatched Cotto vs Margarito 2 and Cotto was getting caught too much for my liking. That's Cotto. He got knocked down by Corley, Torres, rocked by Judah, Mosley, knocked down by Pacquiao twice/stopped and stopped by Margarito. I dont doubt he is competitive but Floyd knows he can stop this guy. And he will due to accumilative damage.

Never take pre fight words seriously because they are just that words, every fighter in the history always say the same things. "I'm in the best shape of my career" is something you hear boxers say before every fight.

Ever since the marques fight, Floyd has been improving his power...against Mosley he was too cautious and didnt throw enough punches with his new power...against Ortiz he threw twice as many punches as he did in the Mosley fight...but against Omar, he threw the same amiunt of punches he threw against Marquez, except way more power...Floyd has been stopping his sparring partners ever since the Camp for Ortiz...and all of his sparring partners for this camp, predicted he will stop Cotto...Omar was even begging For Mercy, when Floyd wouldnt let him lay on his shoulder and fight on the inside...too many clean punches, and they do damage, but he is sparring withheadgear and soft gloves...I see him stopping Cotto within 6 rounds, but I worry about Floyd being overtrained...he was very skinny and had veins buldging on 24/7
