Miguel Cotto is Ricky Hatton with HBO protection

Basically the same class of fighters, decent titleholders and gatekeepers to the elite.

HBO didn't care much about Ricky though, and gave him hard style match ups. They knew they could make a buck off cottos gullible fans though, so they gave him some bums to bash up, and robberies over mosley and clottey.

Cotto is like an overrated Hatton

Top rank protected him. They build their fighters well. GBP doesnt, they let the fighters managers take care of it. Gaby made a stupid fight with trout.

Yeah top rank looked after the boy and made sure he was kept away from anyone dangerous apart from the big guns.

Cotto really has 6 losses, and his best wins are two robberies and two disabled fighters.

    He's a nice guy but strictly C level, B- at a push

His best wins is like green malignaggi, and alfonso gomez

    Like that's his level really

Does someone want to explain to me why Miguel cotto is a higher level of fighter than Ricky Hatton then?

And you can't use "cos he lasted longer against pac"

    That's redundant and purely stylistic

Lol @ this rookie trolling. You have to be a real dumbass to even compare Cotto with Hatton. Get back on youtube and watch some more boxing videos so you can learn more about the sport. I shouldnt even expect much from a guy rocking a Broner avi anyway.

This is silly - Cotto deserves some criticism for his constant weight drain excuses and double standards in that regard. I think it's also been proven he is not the same fighter at a) 154 and b) post Margarito/Pacquiao beatings.

But he is superior to Hatton - his Mosley win when Mosley was still relevant counts for a lot, he is not the first person to take a beating from Pacquiao but it's valid to say he made more of a fight of it than Hatton.

Cotto is a more accomplished boxer than Hatton, better jab and better movement. He deserves credit for how he fought at 140 and 147 and his class of opposition is just slightly superior to what Hatton has faced/beaten

And for bare facts, Hatton is a 2 division holder, Cotto is a 3 division holder - also coutns for something

Mosley was washed up, and it was a robbery anyway.

Cotto didn't make it "more of a fight" he ran

    He ran

    Like a *****

Hatton, at least he didn't run man.

The quality of the trolling on this site has gone really downhill recently. These noobs don't have a clue what they're doing. They need a mentor, someone to show them the ropes. I think it's time to bring Relentless back.

Mosley was not at his peak but a damn sight better than versions Mayweather and Pacquiao faced and he did go on to a great win over Margarito so he wasn't that washed up - post sensibly please.

Cotto made it more of a fight, in the first 5 rounds or so it was fairly competitive, he went into survival mode after that. Hatton spent more time in the john before the fight than he did in the ring with Pacquiao

Anyway like I said, Cotto won more belts, was a better boxer and his resume reads better also :bbb
