My heart tells me cotto tko10 but my head tells me pac ud. So I'm going with pac ud but I could really see it going either way. Pac is going to have to go through life and death to pull out the ud.
Pac by a split decision. Cotto is going box, box, he's going to do his best Mayweather impersonation, but its not going to be enough. If the fight was in NY Madison Square Garden, it would be a split decision in favor of Cotto.
Cotto given serious problems in first two rounds, survives relatively easy and grinds Pacquiao down for a 9th round ko.
This is exactly my prediction. Cotto has to match out the first 2 rounds. Then the destruction will begin, ending via stoppage on round 9.
Thats the way i see it going...pac starting fast, taking the 1st couple of rounds with cotto just waiting then BANG!! Left hook to the bdy and i think manny is in trouble. I got cotto within 6.
I'm not making my prediction until i see the weigh-in. If Pacman looks similiar in size to Cotto, i'm taking Pacman but if Cotto looks noticeably larger, i'm taking Cotto. I think in this fight, size matters because Cotto is skilled himself.
Pac moving up in Weight I am really confused about this fight. I predicted both ODLH and Fatton to beat Pac, but the little man keeps delivering. I saw something in Pac when he demolished Morales in their third fight. He was big, strong and cut and has shown that moving up in weight has not been a big problem thus far. However it goes against convention that he can continue up the weight divisions without meeting a man who is just a little too big. Cotto's ability to take punishment I saw Cotto beaten my Margarito, which was my prediction at the time. However, after taking in all the data about this, I would not be surprised if there was something in Margarito's gloves that night. Look at Cotto's face. Why would AM start using wraps against SSM? What really beat Cotto that night, AM or something more sinister? Will Pac be hitting as hard as Margarito? Remember, Cotto took a knee, he didn't get KOed cold. Cotto has just come off a dubious win against a very tough Clottey. Who hits harder, Pac or Clottey? Pac's power The fundamental question to me is "can Pac hurt Cotto?" because if Pac can't keep Cotto off, then he is doomed. If he can hurt Cotto, then to what degree. He absolutely starched Hatton, but was that the straw that broke the camel's back or did he really lay him out with a punch that could KO any JWW? Consider, Cotto is a WW, weight drained to 145. Stylistic matchup Pac will land punches during the fight, there is no doubt - he is faster than Cotto and he moves beautifully. If he can hurt Cotto and control the fight, he should be able to win either within the distance or a UD. However, Pac appears to know only one way to fight, and that is coming forward - I have never seen him as a counterpuncher. If Cotto can lay the traps and execute with Pac moving in, whilst avoiding undue punishment, he will prevail. Conclusion Pac has proved me wrong twice, but I think Cotto is one step too far. There is the catchweight, which Cotto as an honourable man will respect. However, if there is any question about whether Manny's power can hurt Cotto, there should be none about Cotto's ability to stop Pac. Cotto is smart and will know what he has to do. This is not an unstoppable granite-chinned nemesis, this is a little guy who he can break down - Cotto's bread and butter. If Pac wins this, I think he should be a shoe-in HOF.
Pac by KO in the middle rounds. Everybody concedes Pac advantage in speed in this fight but almost everyone underrate his power including Cotto who boasted that he had prepared for Manny's speed without mentioning anything about his power and that will work against him. The first solid shot of Pac that hit him will hurt and send panic to his brain as he had not prepared for it and that will start the end of Cotto. Pac's stopped ODLH with his blinding speed but it was his underrated power (at higher weight) in both hands that destroyed Hatton.
