Bull****...Floyd did not offer ****...when asked about Cotto, floyd responded by saying that he was too green. Don't try to spin it, because this **** has been beaten to death, Floyd is not only a runner in the ring, but outside as well.

I'm sorry, my friend, but after this comment, the following has NO validity:
Floyd-Cotto, just the same as Floyd-Hatton, SHOULD have happened at 140 already... and the REASON it didn't? Cotto and Hatton (and somehow Hatton fans or PBF haters claim the fight being at 147 was PBFs fault :huh He had his chance, and he BLEW it)

Now you're getting it. Oscar is Floyd's biggest payday, therefore Floyd is fighting Oscar next. I wonder if Cotto would want to fight Floyd if he wasn't a draw?

Floyd is a smart buisness man.

I will give him that, but he does not have the respect that he could have. Being in a divison for the lenght of time that he has been and the best fighter you have beaten is Judah is a bad way for somebody of Floyd's ability.

Also considering the fact the WW divison has alot of good fighters and one or two very very good fighters the fact he is rematching Oscar purely for the money when he could make very good money fighting a very good fighter in the divison i think is bad for boxing.

But there you go, this in financial terms is better for Floyd. He has no obligation to the fans. We do essentially pay his wage's though.

If we didnt buy his fights and support him/hate on him then he wouldnt be anywhere, neither would any fighter.

But acht Floyd "money" Mayweather has lived up to his name, and not his talent levels, all in my opinion of course :good

I don't know what else people want from the man. People wanted him to fight Judah and he did, then they complained that he should fight the real champ and he did, then he went up in weight and beat a very good fighter in the form of DLH despite being at a significant size disadvantage. Next people said he should fight Hatton and he did. People forget that Cotto wasn't even a WW until late 2006. Floyd has been constantly giving the fans the fights that clamor for.

He's dedicated his whole life to the sport. Now he takes a few months off and takes a lucritive fight with Hoya and people complain because they want him to fight Cotto; totally ignoring the fact that Cotto wanted to figth Hoya over Floyd to begin with.

If forwhatever reason the fight does not happen this year. (or at least first quarter of next year the most) THERE is some truth to what cotto is saying!

On the other side of the story... cotto know big bucks is waiting for him if he fights PBF!

Floyd isn't ducking Cotto he just is taking the bigger payday. Its not like Floyd is scared of Cotto b/c Cotto doesn't match up well against the superior boxer that is Floyd Mayweather. The big issue is Floyds GREED! All he see is $$$ with the DLH rematch.

His legacy is already in tact so he is just trying to milk the dollars as feverishly as he can. He may take Cotto on but only if the $$$ are right. At this point DLH offers a bigger pot of dollars than Cotto....but if cotto continues to win and build his brand then Mayweather will come running to bank in on one more $30 Million purse by beating Cotto.

    Bottom line:

Floyd is rematching a guy who he beat recently, at a canter. So that he can make extra money. The fight does not raise his profile doesnt give him a better record it does nothing. Bar make him money

The Oscar fight for Cotto improves his record and gains way more exposure and money.

That is the reason Floyd gets **** about taking the fight :good.

And he's earned the right to take a rematch against a guy, who while getting old, is still a modern ATG and good fighter... that will earn him TENS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS.

Straight up (not that I don't want the Cotto fight)

I don't know if you know this, but 40-0 is an improvement over 39-0. Therefore, the fight will also improve Floyd's record, get him more money, and more exposure(although not as much as before). How come a lot of people say their first fight was close, and that Oscar gave him a lot of problems? How come so many people on this board are in favor of Cotto rematching a 36 year old Mosely that he beat by UD? (Floyd won by SD)
