He is getting his break that he's wanted. If he does say I want another break then something is up, but we have to wait and see. After the Hatton fight he said he wanted a break not to retire. So, he's getting his break and coming back in a warm up fight. Whats wrong with warm up fights? Stop assuming everything.
A paper champion is someone now worth his belt and Cotto deserves more credit than that. It seems you only appreciate Floyds style at 147 and none of the others. When you say that Floyd would beat all the welterweight champs in one night, it comes accross as a little bit of hate.
No, a paper champ is one who obtained his belt without beating the champ. My comment about Floyd beating all those other guys in one night was clearly made in jest(although I would favor him over all three). If I start being over critical of a fighter, that's hate. However, picking a fighter to lose to another fighter that is ranked higher is hardly hate.
You Cotto fans are delusional. Cotto is saying this to some paper Floyd doesn't even read. I admit it would be a good fight. But if Cotto really wants the fight he can find Floyd. Saying Floyd is scared is plain idiotic, the man is a champion. Floyd is at the time of his career where he can pick who he wants and make big money doing it. Tell your boy (cotto) to stack some chips and then challenge Floyd, if Arum permits it and get that ass spanked.
Calm the hell down, of course Mayweather is going to fight Cotto:roll: Everyone get riled up when Cotto says something, just relax. The longer you make the public wait, the more indemand the fight will be. Its one of the oldest ploys in boxing. Seeing as how Paul Williams is out of the picture after being destroyed by Quintana and Cotto destroyed Quintana, a fight between PBF and Cotto is even more valuable now. Everyone knows that Cotto is a great fighter, but seeing as how he destroyed the man who destroyed Paul Williams, it makes Cotto look that much more devestating. JUST CHILL, the fight will happen likely after PBF gets by DLH.
You are obviously trying to go far back as possible to belittle Cotto's accomplishments. By that reasoning Floyd was a paper champion at 140 then.
Floyd fought the best available opposition. He could never of fought Zoo and Hatton and his father publically stated they were not ready for Floyd.
Number 1, I'm not trying to belittle anyone. I'm stating facts. Number 2, Gatti was the WBC champ. Floyd beat the WBC champion to win the WBC belt. Therefore, he wasn't a paper champ at 140. Remember, the man makes the belt not the other way around. Cotto may be a paper champ, but he's still a good fighter. Hell, Calzaghe was a paper champ until he beat Lacy. He was still a good fighter regardless.
I don't like to bring up **** like this but he still didn't get the belt by beating a legitimate champion at 140.
