    Not a bad choice

Urkal was a mandatory fight, so nothing special there. But Judah and Mosley were both legitimate threats within his weight class, so two very good wins there.

No disrespect to Cotto, but remember Yahoo was the one who made the comparisons with Valero to Tyson.

Yahoo lost all crediblity. Cotto should not even be thought of as having the best year. Pavlik and Mayweather did more head and shoulders.

Mayweather beat De La Hoya and Hatton, but De La Hoya (a very good win) was inactive and had only one fight in the previous 2 years. Hatton is not an elite at 147. Mosley and Judah are better than him at welterweight.

It's very arguable that Mosley/Judah and better than De La Hoya/Hatton

I was kind of assuming that when Mayweather got it from Ring he got it because of the attention he brought to the sport too (not taking anything away from his great wins though)

Yeah, he did a lot for the sport. His two fights helped bring boxing back into the mainstream. I would call him the "most important fighter" of the year.

Eh, congrats to him. Mayweather definitely helped it revive, but I've no problem with it. I'd have gone with Kelly, but Yahoo--while not the most respected by far--is at least giving boxing more attention than it use to do.

Agreed 100%. Still I think Pavlik deserves the nod.

    You lost ur mind.

Mosely is a good win by past it and Shane should have won.

Judah came back from 15 months laid off with 1 round of shaking off ring rust. and was as low as he can be in his career. logic plz
