Because, it's about the angles that Cotto comes in, and his explosivness that he uses when he delivers his jab.

The jab doesn't need to land all the time, it just needs to be thrown to keep the boxer off balance.

The jab is the tool that is used to get inside.

Yea and Foreman knocked out Frazier in 2 and Ali went the distance and lost. We see how that turned out. :deal

That argument is totally baseless. Styles make fights. :bbb

I believe Mayweather takes Cotto's jab away with straight right hands and left hooks. Cotto will understand immediatly that he is in there with a fighter like he has never seen before with his speed, accuracy, and discipline.

Floyd is a hard target, and I don't see Cotto landing more than 18-20% of his punches.

Floyd's strength in the clinch and punching power is totally under-rated. The shots you don't see hurt the most. Even when you do see them, if you get hit on the button, it hurts, seriously. Not to mention it saps your energy... that's why people always looked drained fighting Floyd. The accurate shots just wear them down over time.

What does that have to do with the style? You are analyzing whether PBF will be prepared. Now you are tossing in irrelevant criteria. PBF has been at WW for a little bit now, he can take a punch, and he has proven that. So lets keep it on track here. No, the weight doesn't matter because PBF has adjusted to it and the punches thrown there.

Point is, you are analyzing Cotto's strengths and not PBF's. You are saying Cotto does this and that....PBF isn't a punching bag. And he has already proven, more so that Cotto, that he can adjust.

Right....DLH has NO power, and neither does Judah. Try another one please.

Floyd ran against Hoya, we don't need to start that arguement, but it's true. And i gave him credit for taking judahs shots but judahs no cotto, margo or mosley. you try again

Okay this is what im saying. Cotto is slower of foot and his stance is front foot heavy. Who says the angle will be there when he sees it against a faster, better boxer??? Also when met with a fighter jabbing Mayweather takes his opponents jab away with hard counterpunches and a jab of his own. He did it to ODLH, Genero Hernandez, Zab Judah and others. The only fighter to challenge Mayweather with his jab was a 5'11" 77" reach of DLH. I just dont see the jab from a shorter, slower guy working on Mayweather.

Maybe "El Matador" Mayorga? "If you mention my name to Floyd his knees will start buckling at the thought of having to fight me!" says Ricardo to G. Leon on Boxingtalk.com

He took some shots from Hatton as well and kept coming. Floyd has a good chin.

He doesn't get hit enough to say he has a great chin.

I have no need to try again. Making something up won't make it true. That whole "he ran" bit is BS....start the argument. It won't make a difference. I don't buy into defensive fighters being runners....not liking a style isn't a relevant argument.

And Judah hits plenty hard. PBF has already proven he can take a punch. Cotto has been wobbled more than PBF has in his career. Judah wobbled him, so lets not be a hypocrite.

he took shots from a JWW. Good one. Hatton has power at JWW he is no WW and he showed that on saturday and against Collazo. Mayweather has yet to be hit by true WW with power. Everyone wants to talk about his blazing speed but no one mentions cottos power advantage and mayweathers lack of actually taking big shots.(I'm not saying he cant just that he hasn't) I know i know speed negates power, tell that to malignaggi and Judah.

So Judah is not a big puncher now? So Cotto was wobbled (admittedly) by a weak puncher?

And are you saying DLH never hit PBF? If you are, there are plenty of video and pictures to prove otherwise.

He took good shots from Oscar and Judah.... I've seen him take good shots in past fights as well. If you're questioning Floyd's chin, you obviously haven't watched him fight.

You'll never see Floyd just get tagged on the button on a consistent basis either... so you can forget about him proving it that way. He does have the best defense in boxing you know?

Honestly, I'm not sure if Cotto can win this fight, but it won't be easy for Mayweather.

    Mayweather will take punishment.

You made good points. I felt that Floyd took away Oscar's jab too.

Whoever wins the jabbing contest will win the fight.
