c'mon... we're only haggling about 1 lb here. either 144 or 145 will be enough for this fight to push through. ppl here are just too biased and uncompromising when it comes to their favorite fighters.

If a pound doesn't matter, why not fight at 147 lol. Glove size comes into play. Should Cotto come in at 145, do they use 10 or 8 ounce gloves. Pac can't have the punchers gloves, and Cotto straining to make 145.

If he has no other options then I'll agree that the payday is the target but that's not the case and Cotto said it as well. If he finds it difficult/risky to take it at 145 then he will say no like he said so previously for Roach's 143 demands. He has other options, a rematch with Mosley/Margarito/Clottey are all open and will bring a lot of money(Margarito/Mosley to be specific). Also possible fights with Berto or Williams are available as well so he's not out of options and doesn't NEED this fight if he doesn't want to.

WHAT! No way bro. This is a great fight for fans. And don't worry about Cotto's health. He's good brah. He'll only have to loose one pound from his last weigh in results which will be less difficult considering Cotto is already down in weight and will be keeping his weight down in lieu of his mega show down with PAC.

Plus Cotto will hold a signifigant, size, power and wieght advantage when it matters most....Fight Night! 145,146,147 doesn't matter b/c Cotto is a WW and he's a pro who is use to cutting weight. And again...its only a pound and he's not ballooning up waiting for word on his next fight and when...that is all done.

It will be a great fight against TWO top P4P guys in the sport meeting at a Fair weight! Fans need this one brah!

You must have this answer on copy and paste lol... I've seen you post this a couple of times. We are hoping that Cotto does examine his options so that his health isn't a concern in this brutal sport. 147 or no fight at all Roach and Pac.

LOL...Cotto won't be drained by loosing a pound. Stop getting shook. If Cotto looses it won't be because of one pound at weigh in. It will be because PAC was the better fighter. If PAC looses it will be because Cotto was the better fighter. Be "eze".

And this is BOXING.....there are no guantee wins. Some fans are just unable to rationalize making prediction that don't come to fruition on thier behalf so they come up with conspiracy therories or excuses to why someone lost or will loose before a fight even happens.

People think that cotto only has to lose a pound from his last weigh in. Comical. You could not be further from the truth. It is more than weighing in at 145. You could not begin to understand...

If a pound or two doesn't matter, why not fight Cotto at 147? Why 143 at first, and why 145 now?

how can cotto be "straining" to make 145 when he weighed in @146 for the clottey fight before balooning up to 160+ during the fight itself. that's what i'm talking about here... only 1 damn lb. ppl need to get a grip here and not be overly biased for their favorite fighter.

and again, last time pac weighed in for a fight, he was @138, 2 lbs. south of the light-welter limit. so, a fight @either 144 or 145 w/ cotto is very reasonable.

True...but only when they are TWO WW's in the mix. THis is not a conventional WW match up...it's between a Jr WW and a natural WW. They are meeting CLOSER to the WW limit in order to get this fight made.

I'll watch, but when Pac and Cotto could've gotten my money, they won't get a dime of my money. I watch fair fights.

A pound won't matter in the grand scheme of things but these terms are suggested, debated and decided on by both parties involved. And with two fighters from two seperated divsions talk about fighting sometimes these negotiations involve all of the above...weights, gloves, purse, venue ect.
