Both young men have three professional bouts. Mexican teenager Sotelo is 3-0, and 22 year old boricua Quiñonez-Torres is 2-1, losing a SD last time out to Juanmita López.

I had seen this advertised as the co-main and Barreto González vs. Caraballo Ramos as the main event...guess there was a reshuffling. Still don't understand the logic of shoving the latter fight below a random four-rounder. Just swapping places with this one by itself wouldn't be so bad.

Quijano-García has lost six of his last seven bouts...dating to before @LilButt was born. :sisi1

He debuted in 2006, fought until 2016, and disappeared until a couple of months ago when he lost a UD to Chris Jonuelle "The Punisher" Echevarria Torres.

Mixed with good company in his initial run, though - unsuccessfully challenging Omar Andrés Narváez for his belt, and losing to Emmanuel Rodríguez and McJoe Arroyo when they were unbeaten prospects.

"Chiquiro" Martínez-Mercado is 2-2-2 in his last six - drawing with Alexander Santiago (for a second time in their careers, actually; they're 0-0-2 against each other now) and Israel González, losing to Aston Palicte and Carlos Buitrago, and defeating a couple of low-level opponents.

Nobody has ever stopped DQG. It would perhaps be Chiquiro's greatest pro feat to date if he managed to - even with Quijano being 38 and coming recently off nearly a decade's absence. He's still a tough & tricky customer.

Quijano staging a comeback in the seventh, climbing up Martínez's torso with hooks and finishing with a pair across either mandibular ramus. Quijano walking through counter flurries, taking as many as he needs to stay in close and ride that elevator up & down.

Eighth was close. You could give Quijano maybe the last two rounds...definitely the seventh. Can't be any more generous to him than 78-74 to Martínez, though. Even a draw would be a miscarriage of duty by the judges, here.

That last round was cannonball rights from below by Quijano moving forward versus backfoot straight counter flurries by Martínez. They both sprayed uppercuts inside but largely got their arms in each other's way of that stuff landing.
