    I always write in American!!!!

Though I'm not dark I have cousins that could be brothers upon a first glance and at the same time some blonde blue and green eye cousins.....I don't favor anyone any different....nor do I anyone else.

Why is this thread about racism?

Capitan, he posted it. If you have black and white options only, your going to get a stupid census like the one he linked. How can PR have a census that has no options to choose PR, latino, or hispanic? America was like that too and now they have more options. I don't believe in any of these BS censuses.

The link was in response to someone who questioned me when I stated that an overwhelming majority of Puerto Ricans racially classify themselves as white. If you follow the Wikipedia link, you'll see a section that reads "genetic studies". Next to that heading is a chart. The first section of that chart reads "racial distribution". If you hit the show button you'll see the chart where I got my info. If you look at the top of the chart, you'll see that the information was taken from the 200 P.R Census. You will also see a number 11 in brackets. If you click that, it will take you down to the citation section. If you click the link for citation 11, it you will take link to a pdf copy of the 2000 Puerto Rican census. Wikipedia info. is completely valid if it's cited properly. The information that I pulled was indeed cited properly and comes directly from the 2000 P.R census.

Boricano, you're completey wrong with this statement. First off, PR, Latino, and Hispanic are not racial classifications. They are nationalities/ethnicities. Therefore, the census will not list these under race as they are not examples of race. On the 2000 P.R census, citizens can identify themselves as Hispanic or Latino(of any race). If they do so, they can then identifty themselves as P.R, Mexican, Cuban etc. Separately, there is a section for race. Black and White are not the only options. Citizens can identify themselves as of one race or multi racial. Almost 96% indentified themselves as being of one race. Those same people then had the choice of identifying themselves as White, Black, Amerindian or Asian. Of the 96% that indentified themselves as being of one race, 80.5% classified themselves as white. I hope this clears up some confusion.

Just because someone doesn't agree with you, doesn't give you the right to label them as a racist. The guy questioned my character and integrity, that is certainly just cause for me to belittle him in retaliation. I think you're confused as to the ******* really was in that situation.

Check out page 4 my brother. If you have already and silence is your answer then I respect that...but try not shoving these constitutionalized yet illogical and unfounded census down our throats. I find it abosolutly absurd that you would have the audacity to use such a census as your source like its some free pass to preach this utter bull****.you can keep your documents and links I'm of the culture and have encountered scores of fellow ricans in my day and none have identified themseleves as "white". These so called surveys carry an ideology passed on for generations that supports the theory that the system is fixated on stagnating the progress of minorities in this country.yeah good going let's legitimize a survey approved from the same governing bodies that waited till the early 80's to destroy free killings acts that gave slave owners the right to kill slaves that where considered their property without fear of prosecution. The same governing bodies that hire criminals and 15 year olds to spear head the census in this land. You my friend need to check yourself before you wreak yourself.

Good post earlier but you know he wont stay quiet...I agree with both of you though, I've never heard a Puerto Rican (myself included) recognize themselves as "White". You won't find ppl more proud of their heritage like us Boricuas...don't believe me? tell me why we haven't become a state yet :deal

However, there are only 4 recognized "races" and Puertorican is not one of them. Hispanic should be recognized as a race though, theres so many of us...but w/e, I'm just a lowly employee for that governing body you hammered earlier
