How exactly is the Census illogical and unfounded?

Here was my statement; "According to the most recent Census, almost 96% of Puerto Ricans identified themselves as one race and a little over 80% of these people identified themselves as white". How is this utter bull****? This is a statement of fact. You can't refute and you know you can't. All you can do is claim that the Census is racist, or illogical, or unfounded.

I can't make a comment as to what people say in a casual environment. My entire comment on the issue pertained to data collected by government orchestrated census'. These scores of Ricans can identify themselves as whatever they want, race is a subjective concept anyway. Also, if we're talking about Puerto Ricans in America, census data on them suggests that they are much more likely to identify themselves as other rather white as compared to Island Puerto Ricans. However, I bet if you did an actual DNA analysis on these people,with a good deal of them, you would see that a large majority of their DNA is of European ancestory.

Considering slaverly was made unconstitutional in the 1860's, it's irrelevant that free killings acts were destroyed in the early 80's anyway. Also, this in no way would illegetimize the Census.

With a census, a form is filled out and mailed back in. So unless these criminals are writing the questionaire, or unless you're insinuating that they're changing answers than I don't see what the problem is.

 

That's a very complex subject and one that the puertoricans could never decide. To simplify it, USA doesn't want to make us a state, period.

I dissaggree. The modern usage of the word is used to identify people whose country of origion is that of a coutry that was once ruled by Spain. Columbia and Mexico would fall under that category. So if hispanic were a race, Edison Miranda and Oscar De La Hoya would be considered of the same race. To me, that makes no sense.

 

Puerto Rico has an open invitation to become a state at any time.

 

Lol! Don't get me wrong pana I love my country and support the original ideals that the land was supposedly built on. I just find a good majority of its inhabitants a bit to agreeable. You have access to infrastructure...I trust you will do the right thing lol!
