Miguel Cotto vs. Austin Trout & Salvador Sanchez II vs. Jayson Velez RBR

Trout a REAL 154 pounder. Cotto simply is not a true 154lb fighter. He may have looked good against Floyd, Mayorga etc... but those guys too, are not true 154lb fighters.


Trout looked much stronger than Cotto especially in the clinches.

 

Trout landed 45% of his power shots.

 

They seem to be taking their time in the scoring. This likely means a close score.

 

If we get a bull**** decision it wont be good for boxing.

 

Trout was able to use his natural size advantage over Cotto. Cotto looked really sloppy in the fight. The rounds Cotto won were close, but the round Clout won were pretty clear. As a huge Cotto fan over the past 11 years, I know when my boy was clearly defeated. I think this is the end of what was a great career. I don't want him to end up being a gatekeeper or just stick around to win a belt here or there. Time to hang them up.

 

Yea he was dead tired by the 12th. If it was 15 rounds I think Trout would've gotten a tko :-(

 

Trout could be a genuine force at 154, very very interesting division now.

Trout had a lot to do with Cotto's stamina folks, he was landing that straight left to the body regularly early on and banging it on the inside. Cotto ran out of gas because Trout kicked in the tank.
