Who wins? Came up recently in the Duran vs Pac thread.

Had to research Palomino a bit but I think he wins, he was somewhat competitive with Duran inside, who we can all agree is at least 5x the infighter Cotto is, he showed a very good chin and good hand speed, he didn't seem weak to a body attack which takes Cotto's best weapon out of the picture. He has respectable power, but I don't think he stops Cotto

Palamino would be there all the way, Cotto couldn’t dent him and eventually he’d wear down because he’d have to get moving a lot. I’d pick Palamino late.

For me, the underrated, understated, no frills, rock steady Palomino perseveres from behind his perpetual body attack to wear down Cotto for either a late round (as in 13, 14 or 15) tko or a solid decision win.

Call me crazy...but i like Cotto in this one..I could be wrong...but I dont see this huge gap between the two of them...not in talent or resume . Both of them lost to the best fighters they faced...but they gave really good efforts. And if were talking resumes, then Cottos win over Sergio Martinez looks really good on paper....what seperates the two of them talent wise ? Cotto is a great body puncher himself

Both no frills fighters in a way. I think it would be an excellent and very even fight.

I'm going for Cotto in this one but I don't think anyone is going to dominate.

I think Cotto outboxes him like he did against Shane Mosley and Margarito

This more or less. I'm quietly confident that Palomino would slowly overturn an early/mid deficit after Cotto realises that he has to box rather than pressure and end up breaking Miguel down sooner or later.

    Palomino without hesitation.

    Cotto wasn't that good.

    Cotto hardly "outboxed" Mosley.

People remember that fight like Cotto won clearly or something. It was an extremely close fight, and I had it a draw.

In the 15 round era, Shane would have stopped him, as Cotto was spent by the end.

Cotto had some of the worst stamina of any elite fighter, while Palomino had stamina in spades.

Carlos' body attack would take it's toll, and he'd give Cotto a bad beating late.

Palomino is simply the better, tougher fighter. Wouldnt be surprised to see a mid rounds KO for Palomino.

I got the golden pony in this one as well, no disrespect to a game Cotto who will keep it close and fun to watch...

    I'd lean to Palomino personally.

Cotto takes a fun hard fought decision...but I got no problem if someone thinks Carlos would win either. This would be fun and hard fought either way.
