Nguyen is double-jabbing Velez in the face and backing him up. Long jabs by Velez while tipping himself back out of reach. Velez covers his face with his right glove as he dips to one side when Nguyen comes in with a slashing left hook. Nguyen pushes Velez back with a left hook and right hand. Light jabs by Velez circling left. Hard right hand by Nguyen, affecting Velez's balance for a moment. Nguyen is jabbing over Velez's head and getting hooked in the body as Velez ducks. Nguyen eats a flush jab and rolls with it but still dinged with heavy impact, hair standing on end, but not blinking. Body shots and clubbing blows by Nguyen rushing Velez into the ropes. Velez pushes down on him.

Sheridan thought Velez took the 3rd clearly, but most of what I saw from him was light jabs. Nguyen did miss a lot and eat that left hook but did buzz Velez a few times.

 

Round 4

Nguyen chops in a right hand and hurts Velez. Circling away, Velez regains his composure and steps in with a right hand, left upper-hook, right hand combo. Nguyen is reaching in with the 1-2, walking through jabs. Velez is on the backfoot, noodling out jabs and right. Nguyen is pressuring behind the chopping right hand lead.
