But eventually Fernando agression will get the best of Miguel .

Vargas is vulnerable to the left hook which is Cottos best punch , we all know that . But very likely he would be able to withstand it .

Vargas TKO's Miguel in 10 via multiple knockdowns .

 

The thing is p4p this is a hell of a fight. h2h at 154lbs Vargas has the obvious edge. There's no shame in that. What we can say is that Cotto has had a better career than Vargas, while we don't know how good Vargas could have been had he not; (1) ran into Tito so early (2) gotten suspended for roids and (3) wouldn't have to deal with injuries.

The modern day Cotto is not quite at the level of a prime 147 MC. That is his more natural weight and when he was at his best. Vargas is the more natural JMW with good power, tough chin, and sufficient skill to counter Cotto's quick & hard hitting left hand. As the old saw goes, a good bigger man can beat a good little man. Vargas by decision or possibly late round stoppage with ref making the call rather than MC on the canvas.

 

And Cotto is "american" born in Rhode Island...
