    At their primes who would have won between them? Both guys throw strong body punches. This fight could still happen by the way, but it won't be a prime Vargas anymore.

    Vargas KOs Cotto in his prime hes alot like Cotto just bigger with a tighter defense.

    Too big and too strong for Cotto. Cotto isn't meant for 154 and Vargas would have beat him up pretty badly.

    Vargas all the way, no doubt. To big, to strong, and faster. Especially the Vargas that fought Quartey Cotto wouldn't even go the distance with:happy

    I'm actually surprised by the results. I thought it would be a lot closer. Doesn't everyone feel that Cotto throws his body punches better than Vargas, and is a lot busier. Vargas can be gun shy sometimes. We're talking at 147 lbs. here. Cotto would be too small for 154 lbs. and higher.

    I do believe that Vargas can throw better punches to the head, and has a better chin.

    if cotto has iron for a chin id def vote him but prime vs prime vargas got him beat in that department plus vargas could box and put punches together very well in his prime

    why 147? vargas fought like 5 fights there and was a full fledged 154 fighter. he never had a prime at 147 unlike cotto

    Cotto hasn't fought above 147 lbs., and judging from his height and built, he'll be too fat above 147 lbs. I know that Vargas primed at 154 lbs., but could technically go down to 147 lbs.

    I change my mind. We can have the fight either at 147 lbs. or 154 lbs., or at a catch weight of 150.5 lbs.

    vargas campaigned prime at 154, cotto has never fought 154. although i think cotto is more tougher..definitely this goes to vargas by KO or TKO

    I pick Vargas to ko Cotto round 10.

    Would be very competitive early rounds but I think Vargas' strength overpowers Cotto.
