I was a huge Cotto fan, but GGG would have steam rolled him late. Cotto would have used movement to stay away, but wouldn’t be able to forever.

In 2014 GGG was a wrecking machine and avoided for a reason.

Cotto is a quality fighter but this wouldn't end well for him. Good big un beats a good lil un.

Cotto was never a true MW. So he's the type of fighter GGG loves to fight.

With that said, in 2014 Cotto could possibly out box GGG.

A jab from Sadam Ali made Cotto go all googly eyed, slack jawed and do the stanky leg. What do you think?

I will give Cotto the benefit of the doubt in this matchup, and thus will go with....

    Golovkin KO10

Cotto has some success early, but as the rounds go on Golovkins imposing presence starts taking control. Cotto would be in full retreat mode by the 8th, but Golovkin was too good at stalking and would have Cotto succumbing to the pressure and power by the 10th.

The one who loves to fight those little guys is the guy who fought them, Canelo. Who also fought Mayweather and out weighed him fight night by 20 lbs. Here is a list of the fighters the former weight bully Canelo fought that he out sized .
Jose Cotto, miguel's light weight older brother.
Carlos Baldomir, coming up from 147lbs
Lovemore Ndue, former jr welterweight titlist.

Mathew Hatton journeyman welterweight, top 30, for vacant WBC jr middleweight title.
    Alfonso Gomez, welterweight.
Shane Mosley former blown up lightweight.
Josecito Lopez jr welterweight with one welterweight bout.
Floyd Mayweather who Canelo outweighed by 20 lbs but got schooled anyway.
    Little Miguel Cotto.
Glass chin Khan, kO'D by lightweights, and jr welterweights.

Golovkins list is noticeable smaller they are:
Kasseem Ouma , former Jr middleweight champ and 2x middleweight title challenger.
Gabe Rosado, big jr middleweight, never to return to jr middleweight again.
Ishida, former interim jr middleweight champ, and future middleweight title challenger never to return to jr middleweight.
    Kell Brook, welterweight Champ.
    Martirosyan, former Jr middleweight contender.
So as you can see, until just recently the real boxer with the reputation for fighting smaller competition was none other than Canelo Alvarez, so I find it very odd when a Canelo fan brings up this kind of stuff.

Yeah l liked Felix Sturm, but he was no match for GGG. Sturm lost a unification bout against Daniel Geale, then Geale vacated the belt rather than fight GGG, later GGG fought him and destroyed him in 3 rounds.

Cotto got walked down by slow as molasses Margarito. A Margarito who doesn't have the fundamentals or the thudding jab of GGG. He waa still getting to Cotto with one eye in the rematch.

GGG would hammer Cotto its not close. Naturally bigger guy, iron chin. Huge power advantage. This isn't a close fight this would look like Kell Brook mk 2.

Of course he'd have loved to have fought him, he was the WBC and lineal MW champion.

The whole point of being in a division is to try to fight the highest ranked fighter.

Bad, bad matchup for Cotto. He has nothing to trouble GGG. Can't win a firefight and can't keep him off forever. If he thought Margarito had bricks in his gloves, wait until he faces triple G.

No, but unfortunately ISAL, who has a man crush on Canelo, uses every GGG thread to try and discredit his lover's daddy. Which invariably evokes a response in kind.
