Clottey stepped up his offense toward the end of that Judah fight. Meanwhile, fCotto inished the Margo fight on his knees.

How come Shane Mosley couldn't stop David Estrada but was able to stop Vargas, Mayorga, and Margo? Regardless, I never once said Clottey was a big puncher. However, he certainly has enough power to stop Cotto. He ****ed up Judah's eye so bad the ref thought it was a headbutt, he broke Corrales' jaw, and he had Margo's head swelled up Margo's head like a beach ball. Oh yeah, Mayweather didn't beat Hatton on accumulation of punches. It was a perfeclty timed left hook that did Hatton in. He knocked the guy senseless with a single punch. It wasn't like the Margo/Cotto fight were Cotto was worn down and then quit.

Clottey didn't even get hurt during his fight with AM.
Clottey finished the fight with no Knockdowns or knees taken.
Clottey survived the record of 1600 punches being thrown at him.

    Cotto took a knee.
    Cotto ran.
    Cotto quit.

YEAH, and MARGO had hard hand wraps in his gloves...and without them got KO'd by Mosley...the day Cotto fights Margo again...you will see what should've happened the first time and was happening all the way up until the 7th round..

although i agree, cotto did take a knee...he did not get dropped, he was smart enough and aware enough to say i don't need to take this punishment and end up like Ali...yes cotto did run, away from margo's pressure just to pump punches in his face, that didn't faze him...

Cotto did not get hurt by Mosley and did have Mosley reeling at times
While Margo took EVERY PUNCH NO PROBLEM (aka the effects of juicing) from Cotto
(But without them roids and no concrete hand wraps) Margo got ANNIHLATED by Mosley

    something doesn't seem right?

That's right, This shits funny to me, I would of never in a million years imagined people thinking Joshua ****ing Clottey would stop Miguel Cotto, like no knock my ***** I ain't got nothing against him, but that **** don't even sound right do it?

But hell weirder things have happened, but still.....sometimes I wonder if I'm the only sane man on earth, ever feel that way? Like when everyone was trying to say B.hop would get stopped by Kelly ****in Pavlik, u know? U just say somethings outloud and it just doesn't sound right, feel me? Or like when everyone was saying Soulja Boy and Lil Wayne are the best rappers alive.....ya know? It just don't sound right

alot of **** I read on this sight just don't right, and unfortuantly for u my friend, Clottey beating Cotto is one of them

But come June we'll find out for sure

That's 100% speculation. I got the same feeling watching Clottey fight Chico and Flores, yet neither one of those bouts ended inside the distance.

Yet he KO'd Felix Flores inside of one round and wobbled Mayweather twice. Felix Flores being the same fighter who went the distance with Clottey just a year ago.

The difference is Cotto fought Margarito for as long as he was able too. He eventually wilted under the pressure, and as a result was stopped. Clottey on the other hand, never put it on the line. Instead went into survival mode for the second half of his bout with Margarito, claiming to have fought six rounds with two broken hands, when in actuality, neither hand was broken. And Margarito definitely hurt Clottey with a left hook to the body in the 9th round that forced him to retreat in a corner.

nothing too impressive about breaking a former lightweights jaw

but what is very UNimpressive, is that after all those hard and CLEAN shots, he still couldn't put him away.

    "Defense wins championships."

That will be the case here. Very little question in my mind.

I also think people underestimate cotto's stamina. He had his nose broken like from the 3rd round vs Margarito! IMO that had to take ALOT of his stamina in the later rounds.
I've never seen Cotto tired before that fight...

I agree, I hope Cotto chooses Clottey since the match up really seems to be heating up. I'll try to do a more in depth analysis when I have the time (right now my time is pretty compromised) to really see who I give the edge to. As of right now I give a slight edge to Cotto due to his experience and punch out put, but I will not vote yet because I really want to analyze the fight better before giving my official pick.

pngo: u right my man me neither people say he was gased in the mosely fight the last 3 rounds i didnt see it that way. i think he fought an inteligent fight against ssm. he knew shane still had power n still was dangerous (ask margo) so he boxed shane and got the W. he didnt looked gassed so i dont know maybe few people really understand what stamina is and confuse it with retreating as a form of it. retreating is just a different style dats it. stamina is wen u drop ur hands and u get all pale u feel like ur about to throw up and faint. wen u dont have anything left to do thats stamina wen u stop throwing punches , and start holding on for dear life. cottos never done that and in the fight he shouldve grabbed he didnt he came to fight as simple as that. he fought intelligent in the mosely fight and made an intelligent and wise decision as a fighter inthe margo fight .

All the Cotto haters in this forum love to say "oh Mosley had him running for dear life in the later rounds", thats complete bull****, please watch the fight again before talking this nonsense. And if you think Cotto really was tired just look at the 12 round, does that ****ing seems like hes tired?
