Clottey has handspeed and is good inside.... He throws the uppercut, not as much or as good as Margarito but thats a punch Cotto is vulnerable too... However, he throws from too far out.... And yeah, he does fight in spots... and has that tight defense..
Cotto's bodywork could be the difference, assuming he doesn't ignore the body.... Actually, Zab was able to land some good body shots on Clottey but they seem to do little to Clottey, but Cotto's bodyshots are more menacing so yeah...

I give the edge to Clottey.... But I do see Cotto eeking this one out...

Cotto by close decision. I'd say 116-112ish.

I know how Clottey fights and what his guard's like, I do watch boxing you know. What I'm saying is that Margarito walked straight through them and was in the position to throw a high volume punches, whereas Clottey's volume isn't great, and as he'll try and cover up instead of take the punches and walk though them, he's not in the position to throw so Cotto can circle and move.

Clottey doesn't have anything for Cotto, his power is average at best, he ain't very fast, or slick, and i'd say Cotto's the better counter puncher between the 2, but with Clottey's guard Cotto'll have a hard to doing any real damage to Clottey, but at the same time, he'll score a fairly easy UD

i'd say Cotto 9 rounds to 3, stylistically Cotto is all wrong for Clottey, it would probably be a good fight though, a wonder why this hasn't been in neither fighters plans, a win for either would look great on there resume

Those who know me must know by now I think highly of both Clottey and Cotto. I think Clottey will be the stronger fighter come fight night and I don't think Cotto will be able to hurt him (unless he decides to work the body from the very first round). In the end I think I'd give a slight edge to Cotto due to his competition level and higher punch out put. But very close match up in my eyes.

Cotto by UD, due to his superior boxing ability.

Clottey has weighed 165+ on a few WW fights. Has Cotto ever topped 160 in any WW fight? Still think there is a natural difference in size.

Marg threw a compubox record 1,600+ punches against Clottey and Clottey was never once stunned or hurt. And Marg wasn't pushing Clottey backwards.

Cotto UD. I think he's got what it takes to beat Clottey even with the beating he recieved with those loaded gloves.

    Clottey by UD.

Clottey will be absolutely untouched by Cotto's punches. If you think Margo has a much better chin than Clottey, you have obviously not been paying attention. The only problem with Clottey is workrate, but his defense will pull him through this one.

And if Cotto gets caught with an uppercut, we will see a much different fight than anyone expects....

People backing clottey seem to forget that he fades late in fights. Add to the fact that he has a **** workrate and overrated power. Who cares if he is physically strong? He should be he comes in at 160+ on fight night. He couldnt even get Alvarez out of there. Clottey is becoming one of the most overrated WW's at the moment

Clottey will do what it takes to win the fight but i'm not sure that he's active enough to compete with Cotto for 12 full rounds. He shows good defense, speed, and defensive guard but Cotto is a bit more schooled.

I'm going to go with Cotto by close decision, but wouldn't be surprised if Clottey won by stoppage on cuts --

Cotto has been cut prone as of late ...

if the fight goes 116-112 then the fight isn't close ... my idea of a close fight would be 115-113 ... 116-112 you would need a knock down to secure a victory in the latter rounds.
