The thing I like about Clottey's chances in this fight is that he likes to answer with extreme punishment. Very rarely does this guy not come back with something more substantial than he's been hit with. Cotto likes to play tit-for-tat. Clottey will win that game. Anyone familiar with Clottey's career knows the deal.

Cotto also doesn't have blinding technique, no genuine superpowers to keep Clottey confused, just straight ahead gamesmanship. Clottey has a bit of dynamic superpower to him. This would look something like the Mosley fight at different points, only Clottey has strong defense, blinding speed and power behind his counter strikes, and he's in his physical prime. I have Clottey winning this fight decisively.

Right, but every time Cotto finishes a combination downstairs he'll be on the recieving end of a Clottey combination upstairs. Clottey took 12 rounds of body shots from Margarito. He'll have no problems taking Cotto's bodywork. Cotto on the other hand will have a miserable time taking Clottey's headwork.

Agreed. Cotto will find himself fighting a a guy who can do alot of everything and wont know what to do.

Speaking of last year , Ed, didn't you give me a lot of **** one night for stating that the panther was very ordinary in terms of skill, and over-rated by most on here?

    That was you, wasn't it.

You rattled on about what a bum Abraham was and how crooked Euro refs and judges were (even though that ref was a Yank) and what Panterra would do to him next time.

You even sent me x-rays of Ali's jaw, for whatever reason.

And you talked about how Abraham's position in the middlewt division was in
    crisis, or even over.

I notice he's fought five times since that, and stopped all five of his opponents.

The most recent of the five was Edison Miranda.

I mention this only because I thought you might have missed the whole deal, as we haven't seen anything from you on here regarding that fight.

Cotto fought a great fight against Margo. Margo was just stronger and bigger than him. Cotto is a little guy with a great offensive game, but he can't fight Clottey the same way he fought Margo. Clottey is much faster that Margo with a better defense. He comes into a fight the size of a middlewieight and would probably wear Miguel down and stop him late. A good big guy always beats a good little guy, unless the little guy is PBF.

I think Clottey destroys Cotto. Too much dfense, stamina, and toughness for Cotto to run over like he has so many others. Clottey is in incredible shape and is very strong.

Clottey's quick, lead right will be the main problem.

Zab was successful when going to Clottey's body due to the way he had his hands up peek-a-boo style. I think Cotto could be very successful to the body. I'm sorry Clottey is a good, strong fighter but I still think a post-Margo Cotto wins this, could be close though.

There is not only one single way to beat Cotto, Ziggy. Torres almost beat him by KHTFO. Clottey has all the tools to beat Cotto, it's only a question of if he applies himself. I would bet that he would. Cotto isn't durable enough for a battle with Clottey, and Cotto's style would bring out the animal in Clottey.

bad fight for cotto, Id pick clottey by decision

At this point Cotto needs a fight to regain his confidence. By putting him in there with one of the best boxers in the welterweight division, hes asking for trouble

    Clottey UD
