Should this fight be made ? I dont know why it just came to mind this fight, neve before did i think of this 2 guys fightin but for some reason it did today, just tought id ask the question
I don't think that Cotto could make 140 so no the fight should not be made. If we are talking hypothetical then I'd say Cotto wins it.
I asked that before when Pac-Diaz was still a hot item. Diaz started fighting at 140 then moved down to 135 after 6 or 7 fights. Cotto had been campaigning for a long time at 140 but recently went up. When a fighter (Cotto) ages, it becomes more difficult for him to maintain weight. Diaz is still very young but in around 3-4 years time, I am sure that he will be fighting at 147's. If that happens, cotto might be retired already. Assuming that both could fight at 140 today, I do not think that Diaz could hurt Cotto even with his volume punches and eventually will get caught and KOed.
