I was thinking about this matchup today when reading the new Ring Magazine. I think it's a close fight. If Cintron can catch Cotto early with a right hand and hurt him bad, he can finish him off. If Cotto can survive an early storm, establish his body punching, and wear Cintron down gradually, he can win by mid to late round TKO. Either way, I think that it's a fight that would end with a KO or a TKO. I would bet the under.
That's my feeling too. Of course, it could also be that Cintron won't be able to handle Cotto's power - but it seems to me that Cotto has been hurt more frequently in fights, and even though Cintron's the one who has been stopped, he may take the better punch. Of course, this could be COMPLETELY off the mark - which is why this is very much a "pick 'em" fight. Basically, I think neither guy takes the greatest shot, but Cintron hits a bit harder. Despite the uncertainties, one thing I would say for SURE is that whoever gets the first good shot in on the other guy's questionable whiskers is likely to be the one who emerges victorious.
This is exactly how i feel about this fight, but personally if i had to pick one to take this fight it's Cintron only because of the punching power and the fact Cotto's been hurt before by lesser punchers. But whether Cintron can handle Cotto's constant pressure, i dunno.
I will go with Cotto in this one because he has faced better competition than Cintron and has shown his heart. If Cintron doesn't knock Cotto out early, and I don't think he will, Cotto will break him down with his relentless body assault.
Man Cintron is 5'11 and Cotto is 5'6 i gotta go with Cintron. Plus Cotto is a sucker for a right hand. Cintron also has a 5 inch reach advantage. Cintron by Kayo.
Well this makes a mockery of all the people that foolishly have Cotto in their p4p list. Many of you are picking Cintron. Cotto for me.
I'll just say this. If Cotto was fighting Cintron instead of Shane in November, I'd be a lot more concerned than I am now.
