Based on what. Him crying in the ring after seeing his own blood? Power is the most overrated thing in boxing. It looks great when you're beating on bums and captures the imagination. But we've already seen what can happen when someone stepped up to Cintron , wasn't afraid and cracked him hard. He didn't like a taste of his own medicine. Sure a fight between Cintron and Cotto would probably be violent but I'd be much more worried about a guy who has shown he can take a punch, has great stamina and can outbox you all day long. Mosley has only been stiffled by big opponents who pressure behind excellent jabs. Miguel not being bigger or possessing such a jab has none of the trademark tools needed to stiffle Mosley. This is going to be a tough night for him. If Miguel pulls it out, it would look much more impressive to me than knocking out Cintron.
zab judah is better than any of the bums cintron fought, infact zab is better than cintron himself. atleast cotto doesn't cry when he see's blood.
You forget this is not a prime Shane Mosley we're talking about. Great stamina, yet he was breathing very heavily after 9 or 10 nondescript rounds against Luis Collazo. Can outbox you all day long, yet lost rounds to a third rate fighter like Jose Luis Cruz, who may possibly have the slowest hands in the division, and hit regularly by David Estrada. It's not a coincidence that Shane's best performances in recent years came against a weight drained shot Fernando Vargas, and an injured Luis Collazo. Take away Shane's speed and you have a very ordinary fighter. Which will be the case after 5 or 6 rounds of hooks and crosses to the midsection. Because as we all know, Shane doesn't like it to the body. Couple that with his age, and it's pretty much written in the stars. Cintron-Cotto would be a war from round one. Contrary to popular opinion, Cintron doesn't have a bad chin. I've seen him take bombs from Teddy Reid, David Estrada, and Mark Suarez, never being out on his feet or close to going down. He may have been stunned a time or two in those fights but I've never seen him in any serious trouble in a fight. Even against Margarito he was never truly hurt. What happened is he folded under pressure and cried like a *****. So I guess that will be the big question in this fight, or any other big fight for Cintron; can he hold it together mentally? If he can, I see him doing a lot of damage at 147. Would have loved to see Cintron-Mosley come off earlier this year.
since when did boxing become a personality contest? this is what everyone loves about cotto, a relentless machine with no feeling, he doesn't change his face even when he is hurt.
no he doesn't, he does what he has to do, he goes in there and fights, he doesn't get paid for talking.
Floyd was also hurt by that lingerie model, that doesn't mean anything this is 147 not 140. Cotto was struggling to make the weight but I'm not getting in to that, Torres has the power to hurt anyone and Cotto took some heavy bombs so I will say this being 147 he may be able to handle Kermit's power better than people gave him credit for.
I like Kermit and Cotto but I think it is a bad match up for Cotto. Cotto style is perfect for Cintron. Cintron has the one punch KO power and Cotto is going to come at him all night. Since Cintron started working with Steward he became more of a counter puncher and I think he'll KO Cotto.
I like Cotto to weather the storm early then his body work will wear down Kermit. Cotto by KO in the middle rounds. I'd bet on an exchange of knock downs.
:good I'll second this. I need to see Cintron overcome more adversity in the ring than Walter Mathysse can offer up. If Cintron convincingly takes care of Margarito in a rematch, I'll give a matchup with Cotto more serious thought.
