I read somewhere that had Cotto beat Margarito back then, he would've fought the Golden Boy, so with that said, if these two fought each other, who would win?

Keep in mind, it was around 2008 by this time and clearly de la Hoya was past it and Cotto was in his prime.

    Discuss.

Oscar would have beaten him easy if Trout beat him.

Cotto was a beast in his younger years back when he was undefeated. I think he wins a close decision

Miguel Cotto has no advantages over Oscar De La Hoya. NONE

They are not in the same level.

    Different weights, different fighter!

Keep in mind Oscar lost to Mosely.

Also, Lily strongly opposed Oscar ever fighting Cotto !

Oscar moving up from LW to JWW decisions Cotto, WW Oscar stops WW Cotto. I don't like Oscar and I'm a Cotto fan but there's no other outcome.
Both are left handed guys that fought orthodox. The left handed Cotto has a great left hand fighting orthodox, the left handed Oscar fighting orthodox is one of the greatest left leads in history... he jabbed better and his up-hook was insane and simply too fast and had too much on it.
