Most would agree with Cotto is the more well-rounded, superior (and bigger) fighter, but what about in 2005 at 140 pounds?

    How does this play out?

Whats this "beast" that people keep talking about? What "beast"????!!??!!?!? Cotto is SUPERIOR to Hatton in every single facet and yet some seem to think Hatton can win a UD!?! This a is a guy who blocks his punches with his face. Cotto is a murderous painful puncher. Do the maths people..

yep he hes a world class puncher. But in 2005 weight drained as he was could he have handled the pressue hatton brought? Hattons chin was solid and altho i think cotto could hurt him to the body u cant rule hatton out totally.

Cotto was inexperienced and drained at 140.

    Hatton beats him.

Cotto would have beaten HAtton's ass. Hatton was never an elite fighter, he got a big boost catching the faded Kosta when he did, but other than that he has fought nobodies and struggled against C class fighters.

Of course he was. Thats why Arum had him close to making 135 once and also why he won a world title at the weight. Some of you rookies memorys are so dam short. Whats the point in a debate that fantasises about Hattons optimum weight but then completely forgets that Cotto used to make 140 and has fought there for the majority of his career.

Your post proves my point precisely. He defended the WBO 6 times winning the vacant title against Kelson Pinto at 140. Hattons bout with Pinto fell through and he chose Club fighter Micheal Stewart instead. Hatton also turned down his mandatory shot at the WBO against Demarcus Corley when Corley was the WBO champ. Im pretty sure you dont remember any of that either.

Cotto by T/KO ... there isn't too many fighters that beat Hatton in 05' ... Mayweather beats him, but Cotto doesn't ... my thing is Hatton is still riding off that high of beating Tszyu.
