    Per ESPN, although Lemieux is still hoping for the call.

    I expect Cotto to face Ali and beat him. I'm not surprised, Lemieux was just too risky for Miguel at this age. Although Cotto can outbox Lemieux, one mistake and he could go out flat on his back.

    Can't blame him. Cotto fought most names he could at 140-154 (I wish a Hatton fight would've come off at 140, but that wasn't either's fault). He's earned an easier send off than a Lemieux fight would've given him.

    Besides, Puerto Ricans have been through enough lately. They really don't need to see their icon get laid out, and there's at least a decent chance of that happening vs Lemieux.

    It's a swansong so whatever, at least Ali isn't a complete bum and is there about's at world-fringe world level.

    True, I just think Lemieux's team have been quite naïve expecting he'd get the fight.

    Agree 100%. I wonder if any of this was actually his team's idea, or how much of it was Golden Boy using Cotto's farewell as a nice excuse to keep Lemieux's name in the press.

    GGG and Lemieux were never gonna get this fight

    I hope Lemieux will fight BJS in December

    rather Cotto Margarito 3 or cotto Vargas.

    Cotto ended his career being a diva just saying great career but meh him retiring doesn't really impact the sport much now.

    I'll catch the highlights for cotto Ali, same as cotto kamegai. Unless you're a big cotto fan who cares and he better help PR in their time of need point blank period

    Some really thought Cotto would step in with Lemieux. Lol...

    In all fairness, it wouldn’t be fair, Cotto is too small/old for a true MW.

    Yeah, I think people were wishful thinking. No way Cotto was going to fight at 160 and all the talk for the past almost a year has been that Lemieux struggles mightily to make 160 and all the reports and talk is that he's on the verge of 168 any day now.
