I think Alvarez doesn't like movers and a Cotto performance like the one he gave against Margarito 2 I think will give him fits. Canelo puts his punches together really well and offensively I think already he is up there with the best but he needs to position himself accordingly in order to let rip. Cotto on the backfoot using the jab effectively I think wins on points. I also get the sense that Canelo isn't quite sure if he can last the pace of a frenetic 12 rounder and that is why he's so patient at times.

Very good fight. Alvarez is just a little too raw still so I'd fancy Cotto (yes homo) to beat him at this stage.

I think Alvarez just edges Cotto at the moment.
He's very tough and does a lot of damage to his opponents faces (Cotto marks up easily). Cotto's chance is moving a lot and outworking him.

Would be a very nice fight. And I'll root for Cotto if it happens (like always)!

You think there's any chance they might make this fight, or are they just going to build Canelo up for a fight with Mayweather and avoid anyone very dangerous?

That would me the smartest move (avoiding him)... Cotto is a tough fight for anyone at the weight.

I think they ought to make the fight. It'd be huge and who really cares if Canelo loses, he'll just be just as marketable in a comeback fight.

Alvarez likes to fight in spurts, a bit like Cotto at times. This would suit Miguel as he's a good bit more polished than Alvarez. Think he'd land the more eye-catching shots over the course of the fight.

Think he'd take it on points, something like 116-112.

I like Canelo but Cotto is too good for him at this stage. Floyd vs Alvarez is a mismatch and even Golden Boy have admitted it.

I'd have to favour Cotto. He's much more rounded and versatile than Alvarez at this stage, he'd bank a lot of rounds and if he is landing cleanly I can't see Canelo lasting 12 rounds.

I think that if Cotto had of looked like dog**** on Saturday night then we might be seeing this fight soon. However, if they're talking about a Canelo - Floyd fight night for next year (as I believe they are) then I can't see them putting Saul in with anyone near Cotto's level before then.

Would be a great fight. No idea how it would go really.

I'd be supporting Cotto. Alvarez would have a big size advantage which I think could affect Cotto.

It depends. If they are actually looking at trying to put Canelo in a position where he could beat Mayweather, then he needs to step it up before he fights otherwise he is gonna be so out of his depth it will be embarassing. If they are just looking for a money fight for both guys then you are right.

Cotto/Alvarez is my new favourite fight I wanna see. Makes so much sense for both guys at this stage of their careers and they will both make a lot of money from it.

Cotto would (insert dubious sexual violence terminology here) him.
