Cotto's advisor has said that a decision will be reached by the end of next week. So who wins this?

honestly i dont think cotto can take canelos power. canelo had trout doing the amir khan happy dance, i dont think cotto can take those shots. i am not falling for the rejuvenated cotto lie. cotto beat the hell out of a walking skeleton rodriguez followed by a crippled martinez. cotto will not look that good against a big healthy boy like canelo.

Alvarez in a comfortable decision victory... Cotto fans say he fought well, would have beaten Canelo just 2-3 years ago, and aren't completely unsatisfied. Alvarez fans say he dominated while his haters say he should have knocked out a corpse of Cotto (although that too will change depending on their argument).

Canelo's power is overrated but I still think based on accumulation of blows Canelo stops him by severe beating.

Alvarez will outweigh him 173 to 162 on fight night.

He'll be the faster, stronger, fresher, and more fluid fighter of the 2.

His chin will sturdier at the weight as Cotto was hurt repeatedly by Trout whereas Alvarez was merely slowed some by Trouts counters.

Cotto doesnt survive 7 rds vs a non-drained Alvarez.

And ftr.....I don't think Oscar lets this be contested at 155. He'll undoubtedly be seeking the MW limit and may settle for 157-159.:think

Cotto should be pushing for a 154 weight limit.

Can Canelo even make 154 anymore? Amazing he even got to 152 for that Floyd fight...

154 would be lmw dummy. The match will be for the mw title 155-160.

I fancy Canelo in this matchup. I don't think Cotto has done much north of 147 (beating Foreman, Mayorga, Margarito weren't great wins and Martinez was shot). Canelo is on the up and is a good all-rounder and by now has plenty of big fight experience - he beat Trout and Lara who are, arguably, better boxers than Cotto. I think Alvarez could have the last word in most of the exchanges and is actually more solid than Cotto.

Canelo by very convincing decision or stoppage if he wants to make a statement.

I would give Cotto MASSIVE props for surviving this one. Alvarez will massacre him and he knows it.

It is indeed a sad day when a Puerto Rican ducks a Mexican who beat his brother.

Yet he wasn't hurt by Lara or Angulo who I believe hit much harder than Cotto's brother, and guess what he survived the scare and stopped him.
