I would be interested to see how Cotto approaches this. His jab would have success, but he's bothered greatly by true concussive force, and Martinez's punches have that in spades. Cotto will have to show a huge ring IQ to overcome the size disparity (attached to speed and skill).

You kids see someone land a haymaker and KO another fighter and for the rest of the year, you live in fear and tell yourselves he is a monster...

Martinez is overrated on this forum. The poll shows how delusional a lot of you kids are.

"OMG...Martinez will KO Cotto in 1 round!!!!" < Easily convinced coward

I'd also like to see Martinez tested for "supplements" I fond it funny that at 36 years old, he becomes flash the banger when that was not quite the case a few years back against less opposition. hmmmmm

The reason I say it will be an uphill battle for Cotto is due to Martinez size. He is naturally bigger and I may even say stronger.

I think that Miguel has a supperior ring IQ, should have huge success with the jab and establising combinations.

I can see Martinez coming up and try to put pressure on Miguel, but I cant see him as an effective pressure fighter. He can and will fight from the mid-longer range trying to take advantage of his longer reach.

If Miguel is able to get inside, like he did to Floyd, working the body/mid/head while on the inside, and establish his jab to set-up combos, it could turn the balance into Miguels favor.

Cotto is a more rounded fighter, more versatile, and a better technician, but ultimately, I think Martinez's physical advantages in size, speed, and power would wind up too much for Cotto. He could very well surprise people, though, with the pressure behind the jab and technical boxing behind the jab.

Cotto would get brutalized. Almost dropped by Floyd for Pete's sake.

So Sergio should pick on guys his own size even though the smaller guys would beat his ass and he should be tested for supplements even though he's just a ****ing bum who hasn't beaten anybody... Is that what you're basically trying to say? :verysad

Sounds like you have a severe case of ***** envy, my friend. :yep
