I'd love to see a rematch, it looked to me that Mosley started to figure Cotto out late. I had no problem with the outcome, it was a close fight, but I scored it 7-5 Mosley and have had the same score after watching it 4 times.

I thought Mosley won the fight - but it was close enough that the decision could swing the other way - which it did. I would like to see a rematch as well.

I didn't have Shane winning more than 3 rounds clearly, but with something like that you need to watch it again to get it just right. Cotto clearly won though.

Do you guys that think Shane won think Chavez beat Whitaker? There's a monumental difference between aggression and effective aggression.

Nope. Pea clearly beat Chavez. I see where you're going with this, but I don't think the analogy is applicable.

For gods sakes, someone with some sanity about this fight. Just b/c Shane was able to take Cottos punches does not make it lessin the fact that he got hit flush so many times in numerous rounds to even be close. Shane was down early came back in the middle and got beat late. Even when Cotto was backing up and boxing he was still just punching Shane clean and flush. Shane did nothing.

    :(

Agreed. As I said in the post after the one you quoted, there's a big difference between aggression and effective aggression. Shane's performance against Cotto largely consisted of the former.

The older Mosely outhustled and just plain outworked Cotto down the stretch.
Mosely edged it on my card......and seeing that Cotto's chin is suspect to put it mildly.....I dont see where he's going to stand up to Mayweather's sharp accurate counters if that fight should happen.

    Personally, I'd rather see a Mayweather-Mosely fight!

Not half as overrated a performance as Mayweather's against DLH, but probably overrated all the same.

I had Cotto winning it, but the fight just went to show me that Cotto right now is a level below the elite welters in the 1990's.

I think a young Mosley, Quartey, Tito, DLH, Forrest and even an old Whitaker would have beaten both of these guys quite clearly.

One thing I will say though in Cotto's defense: the commentators doing this fight SUCKED. Cotto obviously wasn't able to stop Shane and decided to box him. Instead of the commentators giving Cotto props for being diverse and being able to switch it up and box a little, they started surmising things like Coto must be hurt, Shane has won the battle of wills etc. Complete rubbish.

And as for the people that actually think Shane was on the verge of knocking Cotto out before the ref intervention: :rofl
