How can anyone try and discredit Cotto and say he didnt win the fight outright. He did.

I went into the fight predicting a Mosley knockout, and I didn't like Cotto, but after the 12 rounds, I had Cotto 2 rounds ahead. Good performance. :good

can you believe some people actually gave Cotto the 12th round, talk about reaching out of your ass to give a round to a fighter.

    Agree completely with these points

Cotto wasn't badly hurt when he started fighting off the backfoot - he made an adjustment to the way Mosley was fighting. Shane turned into a slugger, which is effective against pressure fighters and swarmers. Cotto, since he is not a great boxer off the backfoot, decided to move and pick his spots to counter. Even though he was moving away from Shane, he was still landing clean, effective shots.

they were only speculating because Cotto started to move backward...but he wasn't hurt, that was obvious...wishful thinking by the Cotto haters like yourself...**** you haters keep claiming that Cotto was hurt by both Malignaggi and Abdullaev...that **** is laughable.

I think a lot of fans got caught up in the 'wow, Cotto has been made to fight in a way he has never fought before' factor, rather than concentrating on who was being effective in their punching. Cotto CONTINUED to be effective even after he started moving around.

Exactly. The same exact thing happened in the second or third round of the Kelson Pinto fight. Cotto was playing the aggressor up until that point and all of a sudden he started to fight off the backfoot. Lampley said Cotto must have been hurt by something since there was an immediate change of tactics. Right as Merchant is saying he believes Cotto feels he can let Pinto lead and counter his wide punches, Cotto drops Pinto with a counter punch off the ropes. Anyone who suggests Mosley made Cotto "fight in a way he never has fought before" obviously hasn't since the Abdullaev fight or any (a fight where he fought 90% of the time on the backfoot) of his prior fights.

Look! The Mosley that fought Cotto that night would have beat all the top welterweights in the world today with the exception of Mayweather.

I beleive he has more left in the tank than De La Hoya did in May. Due to the fact that he fought all twelve rounds. Cotto did what he needed to do, he slugged and landed the cleaner punches and he boxed and countered and landed the cleaner punches.

Cotto was not hurt, but something bothered him in round 9 I think a cut in his mouth, but he won rounds 10 and 11 and neither man did much in the 12 and Cotto landed the cleaner punches again in that round.

That all their is to it!!!

115-113 Cotto, and that is being generous and giving Mosley the last round.

    Great and close fight.

i had cotto ahead 115-113 but i agree he was backed up by shane and put on the defensive late in the fight
it was not his best performance
even though im a big cotto fan i think he has to improve from that fight to even trouble pbf
unless mosely has got more left in him than im giving him credit for
i think either one will be pbfs next fight

It's obvious that they wanted him to win. I thought it should have been a draw.
