I think Simon wins an exciting, bruising fight. Brown often gets underrated and thought of as a crude slugger but he had some skills as well and I think he'd eventually stop Miguel.

:think THis is one of them pickem bouts i might lean towards Brown to Ko Cotto. Althouh i can almost just as easily see Cotto outboxing Brown to a decision.

Brown from the mid to late 80s has the boxing skills and power to put away Cotto sometime in the championship rounds.

But Brown got lazy and badly overrated and Cotto has the ability to beat that Brown in a 15 round war.

I'll take Brown by decision. Brown was underrated. I'll give Cotto credit for resiliency and say he lasts to the end.

Brown by brutal KO sometime in the mid rounds.

Cotto wins the early rounds and Brown would pour it on in the mid-rounds like he did against Tyrone Trice en route to a 9th round TKO.

Brown by late KO. Cotto would try to box Brown, but it wouldnt last. Simon would eventually drag him into a war, where his superior power, superior chin, and superior stamina would win out.

Based upon my encounters over there I doubt that 80% even know who Brown is. Personally I would lean towards a Cotto decison (and selected that poll option), but would not likely wager anything on the outcome. I think it would be a very close 115-113 type fight either way, just feel that Cotto would edge it...If he got careless though I wouldn't be surprised if brown laid him out either.

I think its a pretty even fight and I would give Cotto a good chance. Hes always underated on the classic. If Vincent Pettway could bomb Brown out Cotto could do it as well.

This thread is proof that most people haven't watched much of a prime Brown, even if they are picking him to win. Mid-80's Brown would've out-boxed and countered the **** out of Cotto prior to stopping him.

One of my all time favorite KO's. I think Cottos boxing skills and power are just as good as a lot of the guys who gave Simon trouble.

How about Shane Mosley vs Simon Brown at weltwerweight?
