I think it'll be Margarito rematch, if not I can see him and Hatton fighting.

But Manny is only a year older han him. Cotto has taken two big defeats, prolonged beatings. Manny's last defeat came by way of UD. Also, Cotto only weight a pound less than he did in his last fight...

How long you going to give Cotto to develop then? as much as i have loved watching him in the past.. i don't think he has too long left. Would love to see him in the ring with marg or any of the opponents mentioned above though

Yep it did look like the Margo fight. I think the affects of that night played a part in why his face was that way. I would like to see him have a long rest and enjoy time with his family and if he was to come back...come back with a proper world class trainer and go in with a soft touch then back into it. The Margarito fight is something he should look to..avenge that loss and he can walk off into the sunset with his money and his family in toe.

Im still a massive Cotto fan whether or not he won or lost.

I say he moves to 154 and tries his luck there.

I want Cotto to hang them up, he's taken two sustained hard beat downs, and he's taken a ton of punishment in other fights.

He was elite at his best, but he's no longer elite. Teddy was right, he is shopworn, not taking anything away from Pac, it was an ATG performance.. but Cotto is taking years off his life.

He just made a ton of money, invest it and relax into retirement. Start training, just don't get back in the ring.

    Mosley-Berto winner, obviously, possibly a tune-up first.

    I like your thinking :good

I was worried about him and started thinking back to the Margo fight...i would prefer to see him hang them up...even as much as it hurts to say i would have to never see him box again i rather he be safe. I would love him to beat Margo but i rather he go and lay on some great fight nights with his promotional company.

Cotto should fire Santiago and hire a new trainer, if he's not willing to do that retire, otherwise fight Hatton.

I think he should fight Ricky Hatton..

He's a great man, Miguel Cotto.

But maybe i think he should take about 6 months off..

    With moderate trainning...

Cotto is an elite fighter who only fights the best that are available to him.A loss does not define his career and he can easily come back to win some title or other, there are enough of them around.Pac is just a monster and Cotto took the fight with no fear.Viva Cotto.:thumbsup

Fight a tune-up, then a low level Contender, like Collazo. Then top off his career with the Margarito rematch and retire.

I think there are still a ton of options for Miguel. I would look at fighting Hatton, Marquez or the Shane-Berto winner. If he needs some confidence back, maybe a tune up in the spring. I really don't think Cotto looked that bad early on in the fight. Manny just gradually picked him apart.

Cotto should retire ... or at least take a nice long layoff ... he's fine but he looks like he has some issues ... I serious think he should go back to the drawing board ... he boxed good for about 3 1/4 rounds and looked as though he could handle Pacquiao's speed ... the pace was too much for him ... he doesn't know how to control pace.
