    Cotto is my boy, but his team and he are going about this all wrong. Fighting backwards against a pressure fighter like Marg... wrong thing to do! How did Mosely beat Marg, how did Manny beat him - they imposed their will on Marg. Cotto needs to stand his ground, clinch when necessary and focus on hitting hard, fast and often.

    Cotto does have the tools, but he doesn't have the mentality to apply them in the correct manner to beat Marg - he will never have that mentality. Training as he currently is (according to the footage available) is only reinforcing the style which is going to get his ass handed to him.

    Keys to the fight for Cotto:

    Take the centre of the ring and stay there
    Combination punching with a focus on the body
    Clinching

    The moment Cotto starts fighting off the back foot, even if he is punching effectively, will hand the initiative to Marg. I don't really rate Marg, but, if he smells blood, he is the one fighter you don't want to be in the ring with as he will just keep coming, and that will break Miguel again.

    Yeah I saw 24/7, from the little training clips available I however, was not impressed in the slightest. The pace to me looked slow, I did see the heart rate monitor, and Cotto looked very plump to me.. Cannot believe anyone else did not notice this...

    Without the loaded wraps Margaret is NO one's nightmare...that has proven to be a fact!!!

  10. man, cotto got the better of the vast majority of the exchanges in their first fight. conditioning is his problem.

    :lol::lol:

    Cotto's always looked plump. That's just his look at 154, but his pace was the fastest he's ever seen as far as a training camp goes. For you NOT to notice this means you've never been or fan or followed Miguel Cotto in the slightest.

    And anyone commenting on fighting off the back foot is clearly NOT paying attention. Cotto's problem was NOT fighting off the back foot. It was retreating BACKWARDS in a STRAIGHT LINE as opposed to circling and lateral movement. The training is focusing on circles and lateral movement. Pacquiao had GREAT success with lateral movement. Seems like the plan is to keep the fight in the center of the ring. Circle, explode on the inside and move. As long as Cotto doesn't retreat or circle when he doesn't need to (which he did in excess in the first fight. He might've pushed Margo back in a few trades and then instantly opted for breathing room as opposed to standing ground or pushing forward.) He doesn't need to follow a Mosley game plan. Pacquiao didn't and neither does Cotto. Jab, lateral movement, and combination punching (particularly left hooks focusing on busting up that shitty eye) will get him whatever victory he gets; by TKO or wide decision.

    For you to make an assessment on 30 seconds of limited training footage means you obviously don't know **** about boxing. The only observations that can be gathered were Miguel's pudgy physique.

    No, it was not too late.
    Cotto use some things he did not use in the first fight and this time (without the plaster) the outcome was totally different
