What happened to the man that used to be a warrior and used to face anybody? Lost so much respect for him, he has just avoided a fight with Canelo who isn't half as scary as many of the fighters he has faced in his career. Why has he avoided this? Used to be one of the greatest examples of a true warrior and true professional but not anymore :-(
Not only Alvarez isn't as scary as some of his past opponents, but he's also the biggest cash out he could have had. His ***** disappeared.
Yeah really disappointing when his reasons are hes too big or whatever. If you fight at that weight then you fight whoever is there, if they are too big then step down and give up your title.
He has been KTFO brutally a couple time and now he is scurred of strong, tough, explosive top fighters.
First, Floyd is Cotto's biggest cash out fight and it's not even close. Second, Cotto could sell out MSG, on command, BEFORE winning the Lineal MW title. The title has transformed him into a certifiable brand and he is undoubtedly aware of this. Considering that he could make 7 figures against any random top 30 JMW or MW, it would be imprudent to take 50/50 fights without considering every contingency. Does it make him a diva? Possibly. Do I blame him? Hell no.
Absoloute garbage, I think he makes much more vs Canelo because he would get what say 20% against Floyd at the very most? so lets say 5/6 million and if he was to face Canelo he is the bigger name so he gets 60% maybe? that's at least 15 million. Why would you defend someone not fighting the top guys? If someone doesn't want to fight one guy then that can be acceptable, but to not fight any of the guys near the top of the division is just utterly shameful. He cannot just face anyone and sell out arenas and make big money, yes he has always been able to make 1 million per fight but he could make between 10 and 20 times that by fighting Canelo or GGG. I don't want the fight against Floyd if it happens, at middleweight because Floyd will do the same thing but at least he wont fight average fighters at middleweight, he will just drop down in weight straight away.
Trust me Miguel will take the big money. If GGG would be the money fight he would take it. I have nothing but respect for him.
"He's a diva. I can imagine he's going to ask for rose petals otherwise he won't walk into the ring," Martinez said."He acts like a little girl, like a 16-year-old girl,"
I had nothing but respect for him but this is really bad, Canelo fight is crazy money and he has failed to answer deadlines 5 times. I don't mind if he avoids one fight, provided he takes another big fight but a flat out refusal to take any tough fight is pathetic
