Cotto is what he is, an outstanding fighter. He has lost to world clsss opposition and beat world class opposition. Why are you hating on one of the few warriors willing to mix it up with anyone? his fights are exciting and he has been good for boxing. His career is an enigma, with a better support system, real trainer and smarter decisions he would probably be greater still, if he smokes Canelo, I will believe he is a legit hall of famer.
Oh, what a surprise. Another anti-Cotto(e) thread by Jacory Harris. It's not like I've ever seen one of these before during my tenure on this site.
I don't quite think that winning lineal titles in 4 different weight divisions makes you overrated. He's beaten a who's who of top competitors in all of the weight divisions he's competed in, and deserves due commendation for it. We'll see if this wily old veteran still has what it takes to hang in the conversation for a top P4P fighter after his bout with the young rising Mexican star Canelo.
I expect Cotto to win on a decision if he can tactically neutralize Alvarez for 12 rounds. What that comes down to is how well Alvarez will be able to use his strength and impose it on Cotto. Cotto will have to utilize his boxing for 12 rounds, which will be a bit tricky because he's far from a spring chicken on top of being a small jr. middle/middle. Alvarez is nothing special so Cotto should out box him
