Perfect, you think he lost five rounds. Most people and the judges, who gave him a clear victory, disagree with you. :good

The underrated speed and the fact that he is a lefty fighting orthodox, so his left hand is already out there making it easier to throw that very strong and thudding jab. The speed no one expects and the good jab is what has served him well as he has stepped up the comp.

I believe everyone is now aware of the Jab, however since he is a hard puncher slugging to the body in a controlled and methodical manner his speed isnt perceptible. Its only when the opponent is in the ring that this velocity is apparent. Speed is Miguel Cottos underrated ring attribute and the main reason he has enjoyed so much success.

Cotto's a complete fighter who should continue to improve over the next year or so. I see him unifiying all 4 titles belts eventually and having a pretty nice run as a champion against B+, B, and B- level guys. His big liabilities are his size, a less than iron chin, and defense. The latter has improved over the past few fights, but his guard makes him vulnerable to uppercuts and shots from underneath.

Are you implying that he can't beat A level fighters, or that there won't be any left?

Because i would certainly class Mosley as an A fighter, and FLoyd also...

115-112 b/c of the low blow but if the KD 7 to 5 fraud but if the KD counted and juadh wasnt such a moron and hit him low with 5 seconds left it could have been a draw

He beat an A level guy in Mosley and he will beat an A level in Mayweather next year. But I don't see any more on the horizon, so he'll just dominate all the current B level guys and the up and coming B level guys.

Hopefully there's an A level coming up through the ranks at 140/147 or somewhere close to turning pro that we don't know about.

He could always make the move up to 154 and face future potential title holders like Martirosyan, Kirkland, Angulo, or Julio, but I'm not too sure how he'd fare there. He should stay at welterweight for a while.

cotto says he plans to retire at 30 which based on his style is a good idea,, the only prospects out there around cottos weight are berto angulo, chavez jr and ortiz maybe im missing one ,,i dont think any of those guys can reach A level status especially the overhype berto and im not sure they will be thrown to cotto befor he reaches 30 maybe dibella has the audacity of throwing berto against cotto but i dont think he will make the same mistake 2wice but i maybe wrong who knows

    :good Fair post.

I just love watching this guy fight, what can i say, I think he will do well even at 154 should he go there. I am biased yes, but only because nothing puts a smile on my face more than watching Cotto in the ring.

He just has the perfect blend IMO of skill and tenacity.

To me, he personifies what boxing is all about. The courage and spirit of a warrior.

Yes, Floyd can lose, he's not invincible, nor is he a top 30 ATG.
