I think Cotto is too small to be dominant at 154...the only way he could go up to 154 and be successful is against B rank guys or to pull off an impressive performance against Oscar.

I think he'll beat Margarito, they'll be a series of fights with Floyd and then maybe a move up to 154 for maybe a fight with JCC Jr or something along that magnitude for a big fight.

As sadistic as it sounds, I love watching Cotto go to work and bust people up.

I don't know if he will beat Mayweather. Maybe they don't even fight next year, and if they fight maybe Mayweather beats him.

He's a surgeon in the ring, beautiful work. Had he an iron chin, he'd really be a masterpiece and a H2H demon.

It would suck if that fight happens in 2010...

True, though I don't think his chin is that bad. It looks better with the new move going to 147. I can't see a 140 pound version of Cotto taking the shots he did against Mosley and Judah.

The chin is holding me back from picking him against guys like Vernon Forrest or Donald Curry. I know he has a good chin, but I don't have much confidence in it.

Roger talks about his ring intelligence, but Floyd has the same flaw his father had, and all shoulder roll style relies on movement and countering ability.. Go watch the SRL vs Floyd Mayweather Sr fight, and you might see why Oscar was trying to land a right hook to the body of Forbes. That style leaves opportunities to land heavily ot the body.. Looks like the head is open but you need to turn the body in order to protect your chin, which exposes the kidney, rear ribs.

Floyd has the same opening in his defense. You have to exploit it by feinting and getting him to react, then sinking the right into his body..

He has great reflexes, fast hands and keeps a cool head.. Those are things that come from hard work and repetition.

It's enough to maybe not get stopped, but to halt his work and let these others set up work, which would in turn gain them victories.

A guy like Trinidad on the other hand would flat out starch him in 2 rounds H2H prime for prime and I'm not exagerrating....

But with an iron chin and his adjustment ability...:think

GREAT point i ve always said that is a big target on FRAUDs body and cotto will use that punch alot he will right hook to the ribs kidney area and throw a left upprhook like the one he KD gomez with right down the middle in the solarplexes fraud will feel those punches foe sure and it will slow him down as the fight goes on

Missed that "Cotto vs Margarito Official" thread huh?

Cotto's chin is shaky...but he's got outstanding Holyfield-esque recovery skill. If he didn't have that his chin would be a massive downfall for him..but he recovers so quickly and is so wily when he gets hurt that he can overcome that defenciency.
