Reminds me when Cotto said he was just as fast as Pacquiao. Its those sort of delusiobs that get you knocked. Why he had no gameplan in that fight when he learned Pacquiao is much faster.

shane mosley is out here saying he cant wait to beat canelo so he can get his rematch with either cotto or floyd.....so we have to take what some of these guys say with a grain of salt......although i think some of mannys fans take what comes out of his camps mouth with a rail of bath salts

You guys are taking that comment out of context. Of course they think Floyd is an extraordinary boxer, but his style is normal aka text book. Floyd is the embodiment of how a text book boxer is supposed to be. When you do everything damn near perfectly, from a text book standpoint, you are sound.

I know the quote sounds like Cotto's trainer is putting Mayweather and his skills down, but that's not what he meant. He does say Floyd Mayweather jr is a normal boxer, but he says that because like any other boxer Floyd has weaknesses. He also goes on to say that just because the Cotto camp is quiet it doesn't mean they're over confident. Source "Primera Hora" (PR newspaper).

He is probably just making it clear that Mayweather is beatable like all boxers/making sure Cotto believes this also.

I actually disagree with this quite a bit, not that it really matters, but Mayweather is pretty far from a textbook conventional boxer - Marquez and guys who work off the jab are. What Floyd does is actually somewhat unorthodox, though not out in left field like Pac or Hamed. That low left hand and the roll is "old school" but it isn't text book at all. The pull straight back counter right is not a text book recommended move. Cotto is by far the more textbook of the two. 1, 1-2, 123, 3-uppercut. Cover up.

Cotto: The only difference in the preparation for this camp, from which we started this past Monday to prepare for this fight…things are more serious than usual. I’m following the advice from Pedro, which is very good.

    ....
Diaz: I’ve studied various videos of Mayweather.
Fat Radio Guy: And how do you see it?
    Diaz: A normal boxer.
    Fat Radio Guy: Normal?
Diaz: Here, everyone’s human; nobody’s invincible. We all have our weaknesses, and with that, we’re going to do our work.
Cotto: And everyone’s going to realize it the 5th of May.
    Fat Radio Guy: Yea?
    Cotto: Yes.
Fat Radio Guy: You’ve got something…
Radio Guy: You guys are looking pretty hushed up.
Diaz: The fact we’re silent doesn’t mean we’re overconfident.

If you guys think they're taking this fight lightly, you're dreaming. "Normal" is meant to communicate "human"; flawed, beatable, mechanically dissectable. You have to methodically be aware of everything your opponent is able to bring to the table, while at the same time knowing you can have an answer for it without being intimidated.

I have always thought of cotto as one of the best text book fighters today. He moves his head side to side, he uses angles, jabs and hooks in the correct technical way. He is very text book. He is well rounded and his body works in sync nicely. I use him as an example of text book fighters. Like you said floyd is not text book. He doesn't through 4 punch combinations often which is something cotto does. These days he leads with his right hand instead of his jab. He doesn't have a text book defense and he doesn't move his head side to side constantly to avoid punches. Pot shot style is not text book its pretty simple as that.

Glad he has confidence going into the fight. I want Cotto to bring the best he can. He's facing Mayweather out of his natural weight class, it's time to put on a performance of a lifetime. I want to see a great fight, hope Cotto is mentally up for it.
