I have no problems with your posts except...why did you have to make it in black letters?

Even though I’m a Cotto fan I put forward an argument that the current standard of his winning streak since he beat Lovemore N’Dou in May 2004 is unrivalled in boxing at the present time.

N’Dou, okay was kinda taken apart by Junior Witter but has fought for world titles which obviously includes his rematch with Malignaggi today.

When he stepped in against Pinto I never had concerns for Cotto but he was beaten by the Brazilian in the amateurs and was highly touted by Golden Boy at the time. But when they were in close, Cotto’s savage hooks, uppercuts and overall strength proved too much.

Randall Bailey was a former light-welter champion, a hard-hitter and dangerous opponent who although lost to Corley and Ishe Smith (sshhh) he was a worthy opponent.

Chop Corley had already been in with FMJ and Judah. His cv was worthy enough and although he was down in round one he gave Cotto plenty trouble, especially in round three. But again too powerful, his shots too damaging. (fight stopped too early perhaps and Cotto deserved a ticking off for the low blows).

Mohamad Abdulaev, it’s always dangerous settling an old score but he did.
Torres came in at short notice and gave him all sorts of trouble (first real indication that the draining weight was becoming a factor at lw but again he survived and outlasted him) Torres as we know has since went on to become WBO lw champ.
Gianluca Branco was his mandatory (too many fighters these days don’t do mandatory’s, don’t give someone else their shot). Anyway a game opponent who went in with Gatti and okay is only Euro level at best.
Urkal was a (poor) mandatory and Gomez (might as well given the poor sod a night’s hard labour in a state penitentiary!)
But he’s also beat current IBF champ Malignaggi quite comprehensively, he dismantled Quintana who great hope Williams didn’t have a clue against, he outboxed the legendary Mosley (close, mind you) and he basically beat up poor Judah.

Now I know Calzaghe perhaps deserves higher p4p status because of his longevity but in terms of the calibre of opponent, forget about it.
Pacquaio (the little bully of Mexicans he is) has been taken on basically Barrera, Marquez and Morales since 03 and two of the fights should not have taken place.

I know the FMJ fans will disagree and I respect your argument but I’d give Cotto the edge that’s all.

Miguel Cotto has a very respectable recent record.

In fact many of the fighters he beat are living off that loss, ie: Paulie M and R. Torres.

By the way, does anyone know what in hell happened to Kelson Pinto? He put up quite a good show before Cotto broke him down. Has he fought much since?

He last fought in 2005 against Vince Phillips at welterweight and lost. He's went off the radar now.
