Roach should probably stop working the pads if this is the case. With his other health issues, I'm assuming his doctors wouldn't be thrilled to hear he is pissing blood for no other reason than letting a boxer hit him while he's training said boxer.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1f_YKX007qc Miguel made Cotto think of retirement, and Mayweather himself says he was his toughest opponent. It's not always about how hard you hit, it's how well you place your punches. Cotto has always been a devastating body puncher.
yeah. i miss the young, up-and-coming cotto. those brutal left hooks to the body! i'll always be a cotto fan not to mention he fought almost every big name in his weight class. he's like the welterweight darchinyan.
Cotto should go back to his older style splitting fighters in half with bodyshots, esp now that he's facing much bigger, heavier, stronger fighters. He wastes too much energy with those useless, pitty pat combinations. Needs to mow down his opponents and avoid the uppercut, his main weakness, always eats them up like arroz con pollo.
You would think personal information like that would be on a need-to-know basis and no one except his urologist needs to know.
Seriously!!! I thought it was said in jest figuratively until I listened for myself. What is he still doing in there?
It's what he knows, what he loves. He will do it until he physically cannot. Just be glad he is only wearing mitts and body pads and not still lacing up 10oz gloves (many guys his age have kept on that long :verysad) or even 16oz sparrers.
Cotto has always been a decent puncher. Better than average and very good accuracy to boot. I remember after the Mosley fight and Shane was surprised how good of a puncher he is as well as boxing accuracy.
