I wonder the same thing. I think he keeps it toned down like most boxers. I dont think I've ever seen a sparring session from Cotto. If that's true, then I think he seems like a smart enough guy to really not show too much of what he can do or at least fool his opponent into thinking that's what his training looks like.
I don't like it when people say cotto lost to margs, cotto was on a roll beat the great mosley that cotto was on FIRE! Than BOOM! MARGS.. look-out for cotto !
bro i think margarito is a **** for the wraps but in all honesty i think he beat cotto fair and square. cotto boxed da wrong game plan. he didnt hav da gas tank to box and move for 12 cause he never had to do it before.
He does, i speak to his conditioning coach often, he says most of the low intensity workouts you see are either done right at the end of the workout to cool down or for the camera.
Before the Malignaggi and Branco fights there was a decent amount of sparring footage of him in the ring with Kid Diamond and Vince Phillips in Fort Lauderdale. There also was footage of him training for either Mosley or Judah in Puerto Rico against Andre Dirrell and some other up and comers. About a year ago, there was short a video (probably around 15 secs) of him sparring David Estrada. Anyway, in these videos posted above, his legs look a lot more toned than usual. Hopefully, this results in a better gas tank, and not the opposite. Having a seemling stronger base could help generate a bit more power.
Cotto is always political correct he talks like an attorney I hope he trains harder than the video because he will need it. He mentioned how hard is been away from the family his fight vs Margo was like a circus exposing his young kids to the trauma to see their dad almost killed, Very smart idea to get away from the distraction of Puerto Rico this video is business as usual from team Cotto.
atschatschatschatschatsch I CANT BELIEVE IM STILL HEARING SUCH GARBAGE FROM SO CALLED FANS OF THE SPORT. WHAT A DISGRACE. HE BASICALLY GOT AWAY WITH ATTEMPTING TO MURDER COTTO JUST FOR A W. COTTO WAS QUITE CLEARLY.CLEARLY. C.L.E.A.R.L.Y. BROKEN DOWN BY PUNCHES THAT WORE ON HIM THROUGH THE SECOND HALF OF THE FIGHT. HOW CLEAR CAN IT BE??????? THE WHOLE EFFECT OF WHAT HE HAD IN HES GLOVES(IF HE ACTUALLY DID CHEAT) WAS IN FULL AND DEVESTATING EFFECT. HES FACE AFTER WAS A COMPLETE MESS AND WAS STRANGELY IMFLAMMED ETC. NOW, im not even saying he defo cheating. But replying to the assumpion that anyhow he beat him fair and square or whatever garbage else im hearing
he looks in great shape, much more stronger and conditioned then he did for the Jennings fight, his legs especially, which is what i've been wanting him to focus on since he said the reason he lost the Margorito fight was cause his legs wouldn't respond well in the 2nd half of the fight.... the trainer issues, the Pacman fight, and everything else could of thrown off his focus, so it's good to know it didn't....which good news for Cotto and his fans, but bad news for Clottey and his 6 fans, cuzz the man is back!
i think he has been doing alot of weights, He didnt look like the old cotto in he's last fight against jenning. Not as active
yeah, i was thinking the same thing....i really can't see him dropping to 140 the way he is now, even 143 would be rough weight
